You guys never learned from the thousands of other storms. Manage the trees, reduce the impact. You guys suck so bad. Thankfully it’s only like less than 12 hours of wind and not days in a row. BC hydro is incompetent

Hi there, we understand outages are frustrating and disruptive. We prepare year-round and have stepped up our vegetation management program in recent years given the drought and weather-related challenges. Crews perform regular maintenance work to help minimize the impact adverse weather can have on the electricity system. This includes inspecting trees and other tall vegetation growing near our infrastructure to identify potential problems.

The power outage threatened my job and no one will be responsible for my financial loss, but one day late in paying the electricity bill will face an immediate response from BC Hydro. This is not fair

Our crews continue to navigate treacherous conditions including extensive tree damage, widespread flooding and many road closures. As the first full day of restoration progressed today, we have determined that Hurricane Helene was the most destructive hurricane in Georgia Power history, damaging infrastructure across the state. We also understand the importance of Estimated Restoration Times (ERTs) for you and your families - we have been working as quickly as possible to generate timelines and keep you informed. These ERTs are not a guess, but represent the most accurate estimate that we can make based on our in the field assessments. We will make every effort to beat these estimates and return power sooner than expected. New ERTs are now available for areas including Athens, Augusta, Brunswick, Clayton, Cornelia, Dublin, Gainesville, Hartwell, Hinesville, Macon, Madison, Milledgeville, Savannah, Springfield, Statesboro, Thomson, Tifton, Valdosta, Vidalia, Waycross and Waynesboro. ERTs represent the company’s expectation for 95% power restoration in the specified area.
