been making a ton more progress with the first person animations for locomotion lately! there's now a full suite of idle/movement/jumping/falling animations, quick item switch animations, and some work-in-progress mining animations that are sped up based on the tool type!

if you'd like to catch more frequent progress updates of my stuff, give feedback on what i have so far, or just chat about random stuff, i've just cleaned up and re-opened my discord server!

The Art of Flight is a homage to 80s/90s arcade action shmups with a fresh twist on the genre. Pilot multiple ships at the same time to take on oncoming waves of enemies in this fast paced space shooter. Wishlist on Steam today!

1, these look great. Is it vanilla? 2, I would suggest the mining be more similar to the current animation, cause it looks like it dosent actually “hit” the block, like it’s too far away

it's a mod, and wdym by 'too far away', like too far from the camera? i wanted to make it a little farther from the camera while it's swinging out to really exaggerate the swing

The FPS hands actually reminded me of "Hold My Items," which is also a really cool mod

could be cool if the hand mining speed would speed up depending how fast the tool speed is + maybe haste and efficiency, so when instamining it doesn't look weird. also i'd love like a scooping motion for the shovel and a sideways chop for an axe. that'd be awesome! amazing work!

that's already the case for animation speed based on tool material, but i wanna try making a separate "faster" mining loop rather than speeding up the existing one by 2x or something. separate mining animations are planned for the shovel and axe too!

Really fire, would be interesting to see if the "insta-mine" animation could be different, like big swoops or maybe super fast swings, for high haste or just efficiency in Netherrack

planning on prototyping this soon!

I have a question, what is your process for creating these animations and integrate them into the game, is sooo interesting for me know that

i made my own .json animation format with an autodesk maya export tool for maya- the exported .json file animations get read by the mod as a resource pack resource and then the mod's systems do all sorts of stuff to make those animations play in specific ways
