Being in Celestial and being a Celestial player are 2 entirely different concepts. World champion Trqstme is also C3 on his main. Is he now no longer one of the best tanks in the game?

No, being C3 is just a symptom of bad ranked systems. C1 players are shit at the game. Compare a hardstuck c1 tank to trqstme, there are infinite levels of gaps between them. I could vod review your game and find 10 different mistakes in the first minute of the game.

When I was playing rivals this was a huge reason why I stopped playing, majority of these players have learned ZERO fundamentals of angling, disengaging from ults, and legit only know how to button mash their broken abilities with 100% uptime down mid Made the game boring

Great point. In chess, the elo system does not let players accidentally climb without understanding new concepts. In Rivals, players can get to celestial with a negative winrate and simply playtime.

@temporalstudio1 There’s still a threshold in rivals, you have to have a baseline of skill to hang around in whatever rank-even if you are pretty bad.

Isn’t the blame more towards how the rank system pushes people too higher ranks just by playing more because you win substantially more than you lose? Like you can climb to C1 with a negative win rate because you gain more than you lose. No other comp game does that really.

Yup. Lots of pro players dont grind ranked but are infinitely better than chudmaster67 who queues 100 hrs each season.

@k1dd2keen Sounds like me got shit since season 0 for being a qp main because i didnt feel the ranked system was serious enough. 1 season of ranked i immediately hit GM3. Not saying im crazy good but i could easily be Cel- Eternity if i put 300 hours into ranked 💀

When you can reach celestial with negative winrates, it is a low rank. Its unserious. I showed you multiple clips and replays of people not knowing how to play the game. Theyre completely lost on their characters, they dont take angles besides main, they dont combo ults, etc.

In this game, neither "Eternity" nor the top 500 actually reflect one's skill level; most players climb by playing duos or simply spamming matches. The game is so poorly designed that there are "professionals" stuck and getting humiliated in Celestial, this game isnt competitive.

What is the difference between celestial mentality and eternity+ mentality? I feel like at certain ranks, there's a shift in how you have to think about the game to move up. I've peaked Cel 3, and I know there's a shift I need to take here to push forward. Just dont know what.

Its thinking more about the grand scheme of fights rather than individual play. Thats what I would say at least.
