About 250 shops encroaching on footpaths around Bengaluru Fort, Bowring Hospital & KR Market were cleared by Central Corporation on August 5 following a Karnataka High Court order, Karnataka Bengaluru Development Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said. According to the minister, metal-fabricated shops had been erected using forged documents allegedly issued by the erstwhile BBMP, blocking the historic fort from public view and leaving little space for pedestrians in one of Bengaluru's busiest commercial areas. "High Court had directed occupants to vacate within 15 days. Officials have been directed to identify poor roads, prepare estimates, float short-term tenders and begin work immediately, with a target to complete projects within four to six months. The minister also reviewed Bengaluru’s garbage crisis, directing officials to strictly enforce door-to-door waste collection, mandatory wet-dry waste segregation, GPS tracking of garbage vehicles, and stronger action against littering. A special drive will clear roadside garbage, debris and weeds. How many times should taxpayers pay for the same road ? Just 2–3 months after patchwork was carried out, the asphalt has already deteriorated to the point where it’s difficult to even tell that repairs were done. When we spoke to the engineer, we were informed that the earlier work was carried out by BWSSB, and because of poor quality, a fresh estimate is now being considered to repair the same stretch again. This raises some important questions, not just for one road, one constituency, or one department, but the entire city. If public money has already been spent once, who is accountable when the work fails within a matter of months? Was the restoration inspected before being accepted? Have we our such contractor? Does the contractor have a defect liability period or maintenance obligation, and if so, why should taxpayers pay again instead of enforcing those contractual obligations? How much of Bengaluru’s infrastructure budget is being spent on redoing work that should have lasted much longer? This isn’t about targeting any individual or political party. It’s about demanding transparency, quality, and accountability in the use of PUBLIC funds. Every rupee spent comes from the people. Every failed project deserves EXPLANATION. Every contractor and every department responsible for public works should be held to the same standard. Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda strongly came down on his own government machinery and the contractor during an inspection of the ongoing Metro Phase 2B project from Nagawara to Bagalur Cross on Sunday, openly expressing his frustration over prolonged delays, poor execution, and the hardships being imposed on the public.During the inspection, the minister pulled up Metro officials and contractors for incomplete pillars, blocked roads, and footpaths filled with construction debris, which have severely affected traffic flow and pedestrian movement. He ordered the immediate clearance of waste, removal of unnecessary roadblocks, and directed officials to speed up construction work to reduce inconvenience to commuters and residents.Byre Gowda expressed shock that Metro pillars at some locations have remained incomplete for nearly two years. Questioning the lack of accountability and planning, he asked officials why a stretch of road had been shut for over a year with little visible progress. “You shut this stretch a year ago. Why are you closing roads here and troubling people unnecessarily?” he asked, highlighting the lack of coordination and sensitivity towards public suffering.The minister further flagged the pathetic condition of footpaths and service roads, which were clogged with debris and construction waste, making movement extremely difficult and unsafe for pedestrians and motorists. He directed officials to clear the debris immediately and restore access for the public. Acting on his instructions, officials cleared the waste on the spot in his presence. Raising serious concerns over worsening traffic congestion in North Bengaluru, Byre Gowda pointed out that several roads had been blocked without justification, leading to daily traffic snarls and long delays for commuters. In 2020, a video from the city of Batumi in the country of Georgia showed a stray dog running into a busy crosswalk, barking at oncoming cars until they stopped, then trotting alongside a group of small children until they made it safely to the other side. He did this every single day. Sometimes he waited for the children for over an hour just to make sure they got across. His name was Kupata, which means “sausage” in Georgian, given to him by a local butcher who fed him regularly. He had shown up in the neighbourhood as a stray puppy years earlier and the community took him in. He slept in the staircase of an apartment building, was fed by a woman named Nona, and spent his days playing with kids in a nearby park. After the video went viral the Adjara Tourism Department built him his own doghouse with a star that read “People’s Choice.” A mural of him was painted on the side of a building. Tourists started visiting Batumi just to meet him. The city government even launched a stray dog adoption programme and unofficially named it after him. He passed away in October 2023, just before turning 10.

If such incidents occur every month, action must be taken against the concerned officials... Whose responsibility is this?... Update 30 Sept 2026 Today’s #SH35 numbers show why we track every single day & not just the good ones. Morning traffic held steady, with 43 of 61 routes arriving on time or early as the corridor recovered from a rain-hit Tuesday. Evening traffic was a different story. Rain and congestion pushed 24 of 61 routes late, a significant step back from just six the day before. R9, serving Doddanekkundi, and R35, serving Seshadripuram, were the worst hit—79 and 73 minutes late respectively. After school, our dedicated leadership team and staff—who absolutely love being on our beautiful campus—didn’t get so lucky. Those who left at 4:20 p.m. and live just 11–12 km away were still only just reaching home (more than 2 hrs later). One colleague had not even reached Marathahalli yet! Here’s a visual from #Varthur. (Despite water logging, people are riding on the wrong side of the road!). We have to help ourselves first by following rules, folks! While walking through a cemetery, a young boy came across a filthy stray dog whose thick, matted fur had completely covered its eyes. Unable to see properly, the dog spun in circles before slowly approaching him, as if begging for food. Put off by its appearance, the boy walked away. The next day, he saw the dog again near the cemetery. It was gentle, familiar with the area, and kept searching everywhere following scents and looking around, only to end up disappointed every time. Other stray dogs bullied it, yet it refused to leave. A local woman then shared the heartbreaking truth. About two and a half years earlier, an elderly man had rescued the dog when it was just a tiny puppy. The two became inseparable. When the old man passed away and was buried in that cemetery, the loyal dog began an endless vigil, returning every day in search of the only person it had ever loved. With no one left to care for it, the dog gradually became dirty, severely matted, and neglected but it never lost its gentle, loving nature. Ashamed of how he had judged the dog at first, the boy returned with food and water. But the dog showed little interest, as though its heart still belonged to its late owner. Fearing it wouldn't survive much longer, the boy decided to take it home and give it a second chance. At the veterinary clinic, the dog was found to be only mildly malnourished. Removing the thick, tangled mats took two and a half hours of careful work, yet the dog remained calm and patient throughout the entire process despite the discomfort. After its bath and grooming, a sweet little dog finally emerged from beneath all that neglected fur. In the end, the loyal dog found the loving home it had always deserved. ❤️

#WATCH | Delhi: DMK MP P Wilson held a press conference regarding his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with representatives from Christian organisations, to discuss issues related to the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). He says, "...We, the Joint Action Forum on Minorities, have been convening various meetings among ourselves throughout India since April... we decided to give a detailed representation to the Home Minister. We had given a representation to the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister's office forwarded it to the Home Minister, and we were called by the Home Minister for a meeting today, and we all had a meeting with the Home Minister. We clearly spelt out the illegalities in the amendment bill. We pointed out clause by clause and also certain provisions in the existing Act which, according to us, are unnecessary. Even if a license is going to be cancelled, even if a registration is going to be cancelled, there was no necessity to take over the properties of these organizations, including their activities... this was also clearly explained to the Home Minister that these bodies have employed expert hands for running these organizations, institutions, hospitals, and by taking over it will clearly destroy the organizations, including the hospitals. We have also said that it is not good even for the people as well as for the majority for whom we are serving… We clearly explained the repercussions and how draconian it is, how it affects or violates the constitutional guarantees to the minorities, including to the extent of taking over the places of worship; also, we pointed out. The Home Minister spent about an hour discussing with us, and we had clearly explained to him with an open mind. He heard us, and he said that he'll look into this matter."

This trains her dog to protect her, she knows he can be vicious that’s why anytime she takes him out she puts a muzzle on him to help prevent any accidents. While at the park, some unleashed dogs approach her dog and run up on him. He reacts, but she’s able to control him. The other dog’s owner comes up. Of course he’s unhelpful and blames her dog for being aggressive. When I used to live at the house in Brecksville, it seemed like everybody had an aggressive dog, or maybe they just trained them to not like me I’m not sure. I used to go for walks at night while I was dealing with customers and such when I was at the insurance company. During my walks it wouldn’t be uncommon for me to encounter 3-4 dogs being walked by their owners and sometimes they aren’t on leashes. Even though they aren’t biting, when a big dog like that jumps on me with its paws, it’s gonna scratch the crap out of my arms and legs. I said something to the owner and he just laughed claiming it’s just a scratch. I let it go that time but then it happened again a few days later. I ended up filing a report and calling animal control. They ended up taking the dog because earlier in the day it had attacked a little kid on a bike. Whether or not it intended to harm her didn’t matter, the point is it knocked the little girl off of the bike and dragged it for a few seconds, causing some scrapes on the little girl. The parents were furious because anytime anyone says anything about his aggressive dog he usually laughs at them like he laughed at me. The owner was angry at everyone for repeatedly reporting his dog but honestly this needed to happen. When will aggressive dog owners finally wake up and realize the threat their aggressive dogs are to others including themselves? We’ve all seen the stories on the news.

Sinn Fein out attacking the DUP AGAIN...!! Surprise, surprise! A positive visit to Carryduff on one of the Executive agreed transformation projects just announced - EPharmacy - this will transform prescriptions and other services including introducing e-perscriptions. Back in the car to see Sinn Fein attacks...again! 🙄... Let's be clear - we are being asked to agree proposals in the Executive. That WILL mean scrutiny and I will take the time to do that. The Sinn Fein Minister sat on this in the Department for 2 and a half years, we have had it a few weeks. I will always discharge my duty to scrutinise and ask questions on proposals. I have a meeting set up on Monday with Economy officials - the Sinn Fein Minister is aware of that. The big question for Sinn Fein to answer is why there is not a single business out in support of this bill?

Before you spend another ₹8,000 crore, please give a white paper on where the earlier ₹5,500 crore went. Let there be clarity. Second, the Orange Line Metro, which passes mainly through my constituency, has been delayed for almost two and a half years since the central government gave permission. I have requested him to start the work on the Orange Line Metro as quickly as possible. Third, I have requested that work also begin on the Red Line Metro, which connects the north of the city with the south of the city, along the same alignment where the government is trying to bring and impose this stupid tunnel road project..."

Following the alleged suicide of #ConfidentGroup Chairman #CJRoy, #Karnataka Home Minister #DrGParameshwara on Saturday said that Roy's company had been raided by the Income Tax Department in December 2025 and was given 60 days to file a chargesheet. Speaking to reporters in #Bengaluru, Parameshwara said the deadline to file the chargesheet was February 4, and Roy had returned from #Dubai three days ago. He added that Roy cooperated with the Income Tax officials who visited his office to record his statement. "His (CJ Roy) company was raided by the IT department in December. They were given 60 days to file a charge sheet. The deadline was set for the February 4 and he arrived from Dubai three days ago. The officials (#IncomeTax) went to his office to record his statement. He (Roy) responded to that," Parameshwara told reporters. The Home Minister further stated that Roy went inside his office, saying he would come out in a few minutes. However, when he did not emerge for about 20 minutes, it was found that he had died by "suicide". Parameshwara said an investigation would be conducted into the earlier incident and that he has asked his department to conduct a preliminary inquiry. "In the meantime, he went to his office and said he would come in a few minutes. When he did not come out for about 20 minutes, it was noticed that he had committed suicide. Apart from this, an investigation should be conducted to find out what happened in the past. I have asked our department to conduct a preliminary investigation," Parameshwara said.

They have said that if anyone has an issue with our verdict or if they feel their grievances are not being heard, they should approach the High Court. Now, whether people will actually go running to 36 different High Courts across the country, or whether they won't, remains to be seen. In their previous verdict, they had issued very strict directives: remove them from schools, remove them from colleges, remove them from hospitals, remove them from bus stops, and instead, construct shelters for them. None of these five directives has been implemented by anyone...our demand is simply this: establish ABC (Animal Birth Control) centres—and build them properly. The ABC centres that currently exist are of very substandard quality; furthermore, the contracts for these centres were awarded to the relatives of officials. Consequently, they do not treat the animals with proper care. After performing sterilisation surgeries on the animals, they take them from affluent colonies and dump them into impoverished neighbourhoods...A dog that has already undergone sterilisation surgery will never bite anyone. So, if the ABC centres were established and operated correctly, everything would run smoothly..."
