A new study shows a thick ice cap in Greenland was completely ice-free just 7,000 years ago. The cap is Prudhoe Dome, which today is some 1,600 feet thick. The researchers drilled through the ice and dated the sediments below it. In the Arctic, the picture is also misrepresented. There has been no net trend in Arctic sea ice extent since Greta Thunberg was three years old. Season ups and downs play out, but there is no sustained decline. Taken together, total global sea ice extent right now is higher than it was in 2006. That was the year Al Gore predicted polar collapse and was awarded the Nobel Prize. This is not conjecture. It is what the satellite record shows.
