NVIDIA just announced some big updates for gaming on Apple Vision Pro. Starting March 19, headset streaming jumps from 60 FPS to 90 FPS. Later this spring, CloudXR 6.0 for visionOS will bring stereoscopic PC streaming to Vision Pro at up to 4K 120 FPS with foveated streaming. Just arrived at GTC and excited to see what else NVIDIA has in store.

Now we also have a native version of Steam Link for Vision Pro in Beta! It focuses on playing your non-VR library wirelessly to your headset. Applying all the best settings for that experience Includes controller input, microphone passthrough, variable ratio/curvature, and more

RDR2 just ran natively on an iPhone. Not through cloud streaming. Not through a jailbreak. Not through JIT. Madeira got Red Dead Redemption 2 running locally using your legitimate Steam copy of the Mac version. For a brief moment, it even hit 60 FPS before iOS power limits kicked in. What makes this different: • Native Apple Silicon game code runs on the iPhone • No Mac streaming after setup • No JIT or jailbreak required • Uses your own legitimate Steam copy • Shows how far native game compatibility on iPhone has come This isn't replacing a gaming PC yet. But it's one of the most impressive native gaming experiments we've seen on iOS. Would you play AAA Mac games on your iPhone if compatibility keeps improving? Video credit: WillFaustCuber/

This is a big update! visionOS 2.4 Beta is now available and I’m genuinely excited! The public release hits in April, but here’s the rundown of what’s available in visionOS 2.4 Beta today: • Apple Intelligence is coming to Vision Pro! All those rumors that said the first model wouldn’t get it. Dead wrong. We’re getting Image Playground to whip up fun images, Genmoji for custom emojis, and my personal favorite, Writing Tools. This is just the start of Apple Intelligence on Vision Pro and I’m excited to see where it takes us. • Guest User feature! Hand your Vision Pro to someone, and your nearby iPhone or iPad pings with an 'Allow Guest User' option. You pick their apps from your device, kick off View Mirroring with AirPlay to see what they’re seeing, and guide them through the experience. It’s clean, easy, and something many of us have been asking for. • A new Spatial Gallery app! Apple’s curating a stunning lineup of spatial photos, videos, and panoramas from artists, filmmakers, and brands like Cirque du Soleil and Porsche. Can’t wait to dive into that. • A new Vision Pro app for iPhone! Browse and queue up apps or games to download, discover spatial content from Apple TV and Spatial Gallery, and grab handy tips—all from your iPhone. It’ll roll out with iOS 18.4 wherever Vision Pro’s sold. I think it’ll be super useful. visionOS 2.4 is a big step up and it’s another strong signal that we have a lot to look forward to with spatial computing from Apple. We are just getting started.

This is big. NVIDIA and Apple just unlocked the next level for Vision Pro with CloudXR. Here’s what you need to know: It streams from a PC or the cloud directly to your Vision Pro. No cables. Up to 4K at 120fps. The technology is called dynamic foveated streaming. Your eyes only see in full resolution at the center of your gaze. CloudXR tracks exactly where you’re looking and delivers maximum resolution there. Everything in your periphery gets optimized. The stream stays efficient without you ever noticing a difference. Why does this matter? Vision Pro is already the most advanced spatial computer ever made. But standalone processing has a ceiling. There are workflows that need more compute than any headset can carry. CloudXR removes that ceiling by connecting Vision Pro to the full power of NVIDIA RTX in real time. This is not a workaround. It is a native visionOS integration. Also worth knowing. Gaze data never leaves your device. Not to the app. Not to the server. Developers get the full performance benefit of foveation without ever touching your raw eye tracking data. Privacy built into the architecture. Three industries are already on this: Kia, Rivian, and Volvo are running 1:1 scale design reviews with photorealistic accuracy. Full size vehicle models evaluated in spatial computing before a physical prototype exists. That is a fundamental shift in how design works. Foxconn is walking factory floors digitally, optimizing facilities before construction begins. Switch is managing data center infrastructure through a full digital twin. Companies using this approach are reporting up to 30% improvement in development processes. And sim enthusiasts finally get to cut the cord. iRacing and X-Plane 12 are the first titles. Full GeForce RTX power, streamed wirelessly to Vision Pro, inside your physical space. For developers: one Xcode template, one codebase, deployed across Vision Pro, iPhone, and iPad. And multiple headsets can share the same streamed environment at once. Some fully immersed, others on a tablet. That collaborative layer is what enterprise has been asking for. Coming this spring with visionOS 26.4. It’s wild to think about what this unlocks. The future of spatial computing is incredibly bright. Live from GTC. More coming soon.

For people who don’t get the 2D gaming on virtual monitors in VR use case: HMDs have the potential to be the ultimate monitor for any content. Any aspect ratio, any resolution, any size, it’s all “native” in vr I get to play my game on a massive screen while I have spatial awareness, see my wife, take a sip of coffee, and have depth correct rendering content in my room. If and when I choose to, I can “turn off” my surrounds and go into a virtual environment. It’s MR by default, VR by choice Nobody has really taken this use case all that seriously and optimized the hardware/software around it. Now, it seems like Valve is. Also some context: I’m streaming SW Jedi Fallen Order at 4k 90fps my PC to my Vision Pro, and playing the audio thru my surround sound speakers. It’s the best of ALL worlds

Mac Virtual Display is the only ‘monitor’ that actually gets sharper as you move closer — it re-renders in real time based on your distance. That’s a huge shift for precision work. For example, if I’m designing fonts, I don’t have to zoom that much anymore. I just lean in, naturally, like I would toward a real object. People often ask me if the virtual display on Vision Pro looks as crisp as my Studio Display. But that’s not really a fair comparison. Physical screens obey real-world optics; spatial computing plays by its own rules — and that’s exactly what makes it so powerful.

Path Tracing on PS5 Pro even as a demo and at 30fps, pretty much confirms at least some games will use PT on PS6, which I said months ago but some said I was crazy for suggesting. PC gamers won't want to admit it, but next-gen the gap between console and higher end PC may shrink in terms of real world differences, bolstered by more competent RT and AI upscaling tech in the next-gen consoles. Keep in mind Valve already confirmed what Steam data already showed, that "the steam machine is equal or better than ~70% of what people have at home", and the Steam Machine is reportedly similar in perfomance to the BASE PS5. In regards to PT in F1 on PS5 Pro, I say drop the base resolution further (there's examples of PSSR 2 looking great even at 864p) and give us 40fps or higher. Also, this is a reason the future/RDNA4 RT tech and custom AI hardware in PS5 Pro was noteworthy. The "2-3x" PS5's RT performance Cerny quoted clearly wasn't just PR bluster. Outside of this demo, it's already allowing WAY better RT than PS5 in some games (Cyberpunk, F1, AC Shadows etc), with better image quality and/or perfomance to boot. Such demo's show there's potentially more to extract, especially for quality modes. #PS5Pro #PS6

🚨 BREAKING: Big news in the computer vision world! 🎥 Luxonis | Robotic Vision just dropped its new OAK 4 line, and it’s a big upgrade for edge computer vision. Instead of being “just a stereo camera,” OAK 4 is a fully standalone vision computer with 52 TOPS of on-device AI. Models run locally, depth is computed locally, and no external PC or cloud pipeline is required. This is why robotics teams love it: lower latency, lower cost, fewer failure points in the field. The hardware is built for the real-world. IP67, shock-resistant, wide-FOV RGB + stereo pair, IR projection, IMU, audio, and a patent-pending calibration system that keeps depth accurate even when conditions change. But the real move is the platform. With Luxonis Hub, you can deploy models, grab telemetry, push OTA updates, or collect data when performance drifts, all from a unified interface. It turns a single device into an end-to-end edge CV system. Most customers today in robotics are groups who just want something that works: AMRs, bin-picking systems, trailer-loading robots, and ag-tech. 🤖 And they all say the same thing, the appeal isn’t raw TOPS, it’s the all-in-one simplicity that lets them scale without building custom infrastructure. Feels like the direction edge vision has been waiting for: rugged hardware + high-throughput on-device compute + a real management layer. A next step toward “plug-and-deploy” perception for robots. 🔗 Find out more here: ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news →

FreeTimeGS – Free Gaussian Primitives Anywhere, Anytime – has been making waves online over the past two days. You may have already seen it. If not, here’s a great example: a live demo with minimal cleanup and no heavy post-production. What’s remarkable is the simplicity of their setup. This example shows a basic semicircle rig made from smartphones and budget light stands. No complex volumetric or photogrammetry system required—and yet, the result plays smoothly right in a mobile browser. Yes, even on my iPhone. You can also view this on Vision Pro! The next logical step? Let’s bring this into the new Spatial Web standard IEEE IEEE 2874 and make it viewable in Apple Vision Pro, Android XR, and other upcoming headsets via open source XR web browser. Imagine freely flying through AI-powered Gaussian reconstructions directly in spatial environments cross platforms. We’re witnessing a major leap in spatial computing. AI-powered tools like this are reshaping every part of the creative pipeline. Can't wait to see what Apple has to say tomorrow at WWDC 25! Are you ready for it? What use cases excite you most? Drop your thoughts below—let’s discuss.

My Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn port for Meta Quest 3 / 3S is no longer just a standard flat-screen version. I’ve converted it into a spatial app and detached the radar and build menus from the main game window. All windows can be freely arranged and resized to your liking. A language toggle (German/English) is included as well. Local LAN multiplayer and online play are also functional (I’ve set up a server for this purpose). Just a bit more polishing, and I might be able to release an initial version by the weekend for anyone interested :) I plan to add more features to turn this into a great VR / spatial experience :) The versions for iPad, MacOS and Apple Vision Pro are also still work in progress.
