India lacks the infrastructure to store and transport ethanol-blended petrol. There is no benefit from ethanol. People are unhappy, and yet the govt is forcing E20 on the country.. why? PM Modi is importing large amounts of ethanol from the USA under Trump's pressure. Hence, E20 is being forced upon the people to create a demand for USA's surplus ethanol.

'If Ethanol Costs More Than Petrol...': Tehseen Poonawalla Targets Modi Govt Over E20 Policy Political analyst Tehseen Poonawalla has criticised the Modi government over its ethanol blending policy, citing a written reply by the Union Government in Parliament. He claimed the reply confirms that ethanol costs more per litre than petrol, questioning why costlier ethanol is being blended with petrol if the stated objective is to reduce costs. Poonawalla also alleged that sugarcane farmers receive limited financial benefit, while ethanol distilleries are the primary beneficiaries of the policy. He further questioned the government's claim that ethanol blending helps conserve foreign exchange, alleging that India imports industrial ethanol from the United States despite having domestic production capacity. Describing the policy as an "ethanol scam", he demanded answers on who benefits from the current ethanol blending system. #tehseenpoonawalla #ethanol #petrolprice #modigovernment #fuelprices #parliament #sugarcane Tehseen Poonawalla Official 🇮🇳

Another manufactured narrative busted. The claim that GoI called the E20 programme an “ongoing experiment” in the Supreme Court is completely misleading. As Sushant Sinha explains clearly, the word “experiment” was not about the E20 policy. It referred only to the operational process of adjusting ethanol supply allocations as per market conditions. E20 is not a trial. It is a firm national policy. The SC matter was about streamlining and consolidating petitions so ethanol allocation across India remains smooth and uninterrupted. Facts matter. Headlines should not become propaganda.

VIDEO | Delhi: Addressing a press conference, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, says, "At today's town hall, people put forward three demands. First, consumers should have a choice at petrol pumps... those who want E20 fuel should be able to buy E20, while those who prefer pure petrol should have the option to purchase pure petrol. Second, the price of E20 fuel should be lower than that of pure petrol. Third, with global crude oil prices having declined, the retail price of petrol should be reduced to below Rs 84 per litre. If ethanol is not beneficial from any perspective, why is it being promoted? People are facing difficulties because of ethanol. It is more expensive than petrol, delivers lower mileage, does not benefit farmers, and does not save foreign exchange. Moreover, in areas surrounding ethanol production plants, groundwater reportedly becomes polluted. So why is the central government pushing ethanol across the country by presenting misleading figures and against the wishes of the people? Why is it forcing it upon citizens? What is the Modi government's compulsion or hidden agenda? After examining the issue, it is being done under pressure from America." #E20 #Ethanol #ArvindKejriwal (Full video available on PTI Videos -

There is a big scam going on in E20 production. Govt-owned ethanol-producing plants are shut down or made non operational to procure ethanol from private players. We all know who the private players are. The BSNL story is repeating in E20 production.

Exposing the fake news that the ARAI report did not recommend E20 blended ethanol! • Every petrol car and two-wheeler on the road over the last 3 years has already used 15%, 19%, and 20% ethanol-blended petrol. • In the last 3 years, 20 crore two-wheelers have already run on ethanol-blended petrol! • Those who are against farmers, the middle class, and the Indian economy are opposing ethanol-blended petrol! • The acceleration of cars improves, the driving experience is better, and carbon emissions are lower. Only the Chinese lobby will benefit if India does not go ahead with the Ethanol Blended Petrol Mission…

Let's not fall for the fearmongering and look at facts instead🛑 E20 ethanol-blended petrol is NOT destroying your vehicle's engine, NOR is it filled with "sugarcane juice." The rumors are nothing but misinformation. Mechanics and daily commuters alike confirm that their vehicles are running perfectly fine on E20 without a single issue, just as they did with older fuels. India’s shift to ethanol blending is a powerful move for our economy, farmers, and the environment. Let's rely on facts and real experiences, not just social media panic. 🇮🇳

The Ethanol Scam! OMCs pay 5% GST on ethanol & pass on that 5% cost to you as there is no INPUT TAX CREDIT on Petrol in which they blend Ethanol. Despite passing on the GST tax burden on you; the government charges VAT not just on 80% petrol but also on top of the 5% GST for the 20% Ethanol, which is already tax paid by you! So on 20% Ethanol you pay 5% GST plus tax on top of that GST! This is criminal double taxation!! #EthanolScam BETA BADHAO YOJNA SUGAR DADDY

With E20 ethanol blending, India is replacing imported petrol with home-grown fuel made from sugarcane, maize and agricultural residue. This shift cuts crude imports, saves foreign exchange, cushions the economy from global oil shocks, and decentralises fuel production across rural India. #nitingadkari #e20ethanol

THE E20 DEBATE: FACTS VS HYPOCRISY. HERE'S AN UNDENIABLE FACT: The E20 programme did not begin under the Modi government. Ethanol blending was approved years earlier, during the UPA. The difference is in execution. Blending remained stuck at roughly 1–1.5% for years before accelerating significantly under the NDA. So, let's first get the politics out of the way. If ethanol blending was acceptable in principle then, why is it suddenly portrayed as anti-people now? Now, let's look at the arguments being presented by critics: CRITICS ARGUMENT 1: E20 FUEL IS BEING PUSHED BY NDA TO KEEP SUGAR CANE FARMERS HAPPY. There's no doubt Ethanol is creating an additional income stream for sugarcane farmers. But governments have always handed out subsidies or incentives to farmers. + MSP exists for 23 crops. Sugar cane farmers get SAP or State Advised Price. + Fertiliser subsidies. + Cheap or free electricity. + Irrigation subsidies. + Procurement policies. If these benefits to farmers are accepted as legitimate public policy, why is E20 policy being targeted in isolation for market distortion? CRITICS ARGUMENT 2: ETHANOL PRODUCTION IS WATER CONSUMING. Yes, sugarcane consumes a great deal of water. But so do + Paddy cultivators. Just look at the tumbling water tables in Punjab, Haryana. + AI and data centers. + Semiconductor manufacturing. + Steel and cement production. The question is not whether something uses water, but whether the benefits justify the costs. Again why are critics holding E20 alone to a test that they don't set for others? CRITICS ARGUMENT 3: THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT MAKE E20 MANDATORY. LEAVE IT TO CHOICE. We're in a democracy and choice matters. But governments routinely make decisions that we, the people have no choice but to accept. + Taxation rates + Emission norms. + Fuel quality standards. + Safety regulations. + Identity Proof. These are often choices imposed to achieve broader national goals. Shouldn't E20 should be judged in the same way? Here's how E20 usage serves NATIONAL INTEREST: + India imports 85–90% of its crude oil. E20 seeks to address that by replacing up to 20% of petrol volume with domestically produced ethanol, helping diversify the fuel mix and reducing import costs. + With E20 NDA estimates saving Rs 1 lakh crore in foreign-exchange. CRITICS ARGUMENT 4: COST OF CAR ENGINE WEAR AND TEAR, MILEAGE INEFFICIENCY OUTWEIGHS BENEFITS. It is true that Ethanol has about 34% less energy per litre than petrol. But because E20 contains only 20% ethanol, the overall energy content of the fuel falls by roughly 4%–7%. So at 5% a car that gives 20 km/L on pure petrol will give 19km/L. But usage also improves air quality. Which increases longevity in humans and lowers healthcare costs over time. That is s fair trade-off. CONCLUSION: Every policy is a trade off. E20 isn't perfect. But if agricultural subsidies, procurement, irrigation policy and fuel regulations are accepted as legitimate public policy, then judge ethanol using the same yardstick.

The main characteristic of the fuel is still fossil based which is gasoline. The specifications are well structured in terms of its compliance to BIS standard IS 17021 published in 2018. Again, these standards are a result of a dialogue between various scientific agencies, experts and extensive testing. And all ethanol-based gasoline, E20 gasoline which is spread across the country now in all retail outlets, 77,000 plus of them across the country, have uniformly adopted the specifications, which is compliant to meeting the, emission standards for BS6 as well as several other specifications which regulate the engine performance in terms of higher RON, compliant sulfur and water content which is, compliant to meeting the requirement of engine performance. This is a summary of the few points of the E20 program of the Government of India, which is now made us less reliant on 100% import of crude towards production of gasoline. #WATCH | Delhi: On ethanol, Maruti Suzuki India Corporate Affairs Senior Executive Officer, Rahul Bharti says, "In the previous few days, we have heard that there are some doubts on the usage of ethanol in cars. India mandated E20 from 2023 for material compliance, and before that it was E10. After 2023, both the cars and the fuel are mandated for E20. The cause of concern is what happens if E20 fuel is used in cars that have been manufactured and sold before 2023, which were primarily designed for E10?... We have sufficient factors of safety that ensure there is no problem in terms of wear and tear, corrosion, or damage to the life of the car or the parts that come in contact with the E20 fuel if E20 is used on cars that were produced and sold in India before 2023. As a manufacturer, we have tested E10 cars, which were prevalent before 2023, on E20 fuel for all parameters, and we have not found anything of concern..."
