Blend and Blur brushes, proper direction to render color

I wish more people would show the basic methods of application of their rendering like this. It's easy to just say "blend" or "add contrast", but I feel like too many artists (especially newbies) don't actually know HOW. At times what's a basic technique to one isn't for another.

I understand ur concern. Pls consider this act of mine as my own intention to help at some aspects of art. However, pls don't set that as standard/default expectation for other skilled artists to do the same bc after all these are earned (not gifted) after years of hard work 💙

I'm confused what is different between the two tools, the initial effect looks the same.

Just asking. How do I know when I have to use a blend/blur in art?

The blend is leading into the blur right? Are there any times where the blend is used without blur?

This is the single best tutorial I've ever seen regarding shading/color blending! :0

thank you for this useful tips!!
