Both Shibtoshi and David believe privacy is important. Unfortunately Bitcoin and Ethereum are not natively private. Shibtoshi set out to find privacy solutions, but everything was custodial. He wanted a self-custody solution. “We were told from competitors that it couldn’t be done… I set out to disprove them. I...

.Erik Voorhees: It’s actually good, from the Trojan horse perspective, that Bitcoin was traceable enough for traditional institutions to tolerate it. “When Bitcoin came out, everyone called it private, thought of it as private. It was referred to as anonymous in every news story. And in some ways, it is very private and very anonymous. But the truth is that it’s also extremely trackable and traceable. It is not private in reality. And the question is, should it have been from the start? And at first I thought, yes, it should have been more private. And that was a mistake in its design. However, I think if Bitcoin had been anonymous truly from the start, like a Zcash or a Monero, it would have had such antagonism from the state. I don’t know that the state could have snuffed it out, but they would have tried much harder. And I think it’s actually good, from the Trojan horse metaphor perspective, that it was traceable enough that the traditional institutions could tolerate it. They’ve never liked it, but they could at least tolerate it because there is some traceability. And that has allowed Bitcoin to grow. And I think in its shadow, that other crypto assets are actually anonymous is very healthy. The strength of cryptocurrency as a concept in society, I think, is served best when Bitcoin itself is not perfectly private, but other assets are. That is a very difficult thing, I think, for the state to combat. And that decentralization of attributes is really, really crucial. So, yeah, I’m very glad that there are other coins that are private. I want there to be more of them, and I want them to be more popular. And I think it’s okay that Bitcoin itself is not.”

On Bitcoin, Zcash, and Ore In the early days of crypto, countless Bitcoin forks tried to “improve” BTC by tweaking parameters in the protocol (eg Litecoin). None of them became viable non-sovereign SoV assets, in part because they lacked any true structural advantages. Zcash, however, integrated privacy directly into the L1 protocol. Whether it’s better to shield txns at a higher layer is debatable, but to me, that’s a genuine structural edge that Bitcoin doesn’t have. Ore is the first potential SoV asset that I’ve seen that has multiple structural advantages in that the system generates yield for long term holders and it is natively created on Solana. The ORE protocol and asset being native to Solana means that it inherits all current/future Solana upgrades around performance, privacy layers, and DeFi composability. Since Ore is not an L1 itself, it does’t need to be involved in improving networking, execution, consensus, etc. So far, I have yet to see a viable path for wrapped assets to trustlessly (and without significant friction/fragmentation) become embedded in the Solana eco like native assets/programs. Obviously of the 3, Ore is by far the most experimental. But its advantages are really interesting and I believe it strengthens Solana itself to have a native, non-sovereign SoV asset at the core of its DeFi ecosystem. Regardless, Bitcoin will continue to become embedded in the financial system and remain top dog. But I believe it has merely opened the door. BTC will not be the only SoV asset to reach escape velocity in the 21st century.

Ep. 21 | Free The Money | Why Self-Custody Matters! Inside Edge In this episode of Free the Money, I sit down with Paul V Puey, CEO and co-founder of Edge. Paul explains that Edge’s goal is to make self-custody far more user-friendly by removing the friction around seed phrases and making it easy to manage, swap, and use your crypto all in one place. He argues that the real competition is not other wallets, but centralized exchanges like Coinbase and Binance, and that better UX is what can finally pull users away from those platforms and into tools they actually control. Paul and I also get into Zano, which is how we originally connected. He explains that Zano is often dismissed as just a Monero fork, but members of the Zano team actually contributed original code to CryptoNote before Monero launched. What stood out to Paul was not just Zano’s privacy model, but the added utility of private tokens on Zano. He also explains why Bridgeless was such an important piece: it allows assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum to be bridged into Zano’s private blockchain. On Zano, not only are the sender, receiver, and amount hidden, but because multiple private assets can exist on the chain, you also may not know which asset is being sent at all. Paul sees that as an additional layer of obfuscation that makes Zano especially compelling as a privacy layer for other assets. Beyond asset privacy, we also talk about network-level privacy and Edge’s integration with Nym. Paul breaks down how metadata leaks happen, why hiding your IP address and network activity matters, and why privacy is not complete if only the asset is private while the network layer remains exposed. Ed Dowd: "What we're learning from the Epstein files is that it's an operating system...[and] let's not forget Epstein was involved in money laundering... [and now] Bitcoin has been tied to... Epstein, and he's been involved in taking over the network and funding it... If you wanted to set up your own dark-money blackmail operation and launder money, Bitcoin would be the perfect way to do it, I guess." This clip of Dowd (Edward Dowd), a former BlackRock fund manager and co-founder of Phinance Technologies, is taken from an interview with Jesse Day (Jesse Day) posted to the Commodity Culture YouTube channel on February 28, 2026. ---------------Partial transcription of clip--------------- "What we're learning from the Epstein files is that it's an operating system. So we have the public-facing institutions, but we find out there's a layer of people above them that know how to manipulate that whole thing to their benefit through Kompromat and blackmail, and money laundering. "Let's not forget Epstein was involved in money laundering. That's how a lot of this stuff was. It's all dark money. And the other thing that surprised me, that I didn't. This angle I didn't think of. And again, we'll find out more, but Bitcoin has been tied to Jeffrey Epstein, and he's been involved in taking over the network and funding it. I don't know what to think of that and intuitively makes sense. "If you wanted to set up your own dark money blackmail operation and launder money, Bitcoin would be the perfect way to do it. I guess. So, you know, there's a lot that's being revealed, and I don't, you know, I don't know what that means for Bitcoin long term, but, it certainly kind of disrupts the narrative that bitcoin is freedom. "I mean, that was kind of one of the narratives that we were hearing. And I've never been a bitcoin, bear or bull. I've always said it's a. It's a proxy for NASDAQ and liquidity trade, you know. You know, buyer beware. It's not a store of wealth. It's very volatile. So that's what it's always been to me is a volatile, you know, 95% correlated asset to the NASDAQ."

Matthew North - The Cambridge Analytica The exposure of Joe Rogan as a military operation has caught wind today and it reminded me of Matthew North and his research. This kid was extremely good at figuring things out. He was exposing everyone who was deep state, and he was eliminated because he was a threat. This video was created about The Cambridge Analytica who is a group who handles and sells data on us. His research is extremely good. I know a lot of you truly believe that Trump is some kind of savior. I did too, and still kind of do. I really do hope he is doing this for "optics" but I often have to stop and think about that. There is a lot of reason for me to believe that he is doing the right thing, but at this point unless he has already eliminated them, there is no reason anymore. He is being really clear and transparent as to what he is doing, what he wants to do and where he wants it to take us. I don't want to be right about that. I want to be wrong. His focus lately has been on endorsing cryptocurrencies as the future of our economy. That raises a lot of concerns. First of all, cryptocurrency was created for surveillance from the very start. Anything digital leaves easy to trace footprints. They have been talking about it being decentralized and that it is the road to freedom. That makes sense to me, after I learned what they were doing with the federal banking system and I saw that this was a way around it, I too got extremely excited and put a lot of money into crypto. It makes sense. It makes too much sense. It is a system we will not be able to get out of after we are in it. It is a cage with no way out from the inside. However, we don't have anything else going. I have been in these spaces and I see that people are indeed seeing the danger we are in, but we aren't actually making any movement in the physical world. It will be too late if we let this continue. We won't be able to get out or change anything. I am not sure what will happen, and I truly want to believe that "Israel is saved for last" was a good hint, not a bad one. We are being kept in the dark, and it is being done purposefully. I know that we are all collectively learning a lot about the world that the kept from us, but maybe we aren't seeing that it is herding us into the beast system? I often do post about that possibility, but there is always something that brings me back to believe Trump is a hero. After all, the templar started out good, but went bad after they had amassed wealth and power through banking activities. This was because they were infiltrated by the Jesuits, who were crypto-jews. It is the same damn Edomites. The Babylonians have infiltrated everything. Rumble:
