She asks why they need her ID. They tell her they have a “target” who lives at the address. I understand that.” But, instead of ending the stop… he continued to harass her, and asked, “Are you going to be childish?” Then he doubled down… saying she looked like the person they were looking for, and that he needed her ID. That’s when she pushed back and said, “bullshit.” And pointed out that they hadn’t even run her plates, because then they would know who she was… So, to break down what just happened: The ICE agents didn’t have a match on the vehicle registration. They were told, directly, they had the wrong person. They admitted that they knew that. And they still continued to demand to see her ID based on “she looks like her.” The Fourth Amendment requires more than a resemblance. It requires reasonable suspicion you are involved in a crime, or the law enforcement saw you commit a crime. If “you look like somebody” is enough to pull someone over, then there’s no meaningful limit left on who can be pulled over… which puts everyone in danger.

This woman walked into this ice cream shop and ordered an ice cream cone. When they handed it to her she told them she couldn’t pay for it. 😳 The employees said she had to pay for it. She didn’t have any money. She asks them if they are going to call the cops. This male customer sitting there chimes in and says if they call the cops he will be a witness. The woman said she told them she wanted it for free but the man said that’s not true. He said he watched her the whole time. She tries to put it down on the countertop but the employee tells her don’t leave it there. So she walks over and throws it in the trash. The witness tells her “this is what entitlement looks like” as she walks out the door. Some people said why not just buy the ice cream for her, to have a heart, because you never know what someone is going through. Others said if she had asked the right way and told them up front she didn’t have any money then maybe they would have purchased it for her but to come in and order and THEN tell them you don’t have any money is just wrong. This wasn’t a steak or a burger or a meal, I could see buying her those things to help someone out that is hungry but an ice cream is not a necessity. No one owes anyone anything. What do you think? Should one of them have bought the ice cream for her, given it to her for free? Or do you think she was trying to get something for free and trying to take advantage of them?

She didn’t think anything of it at first but couldn’t help but notice she was being followed, the police stations were too far and she panicked. She immediately drove to a busy area which was her local Costco. She decided to waste time while walking around Costco for over half an hour. When she came out she still saw the van driving up and down the parking lot while looking for her car. She waited until she didn’t see the van anymore and hurried up and left while calling 9-1-1. While she can’t prove that they were up to something, it couldn’t have been a coincidence that the were following her. A quiet southern Minnesota town A local woman was alone in her car, observing and recording ICE activity in her community. She is doing something that is fully protected under the First Amendment… observing and documenting federal agents in public. ICE notices her watching. Three federal vehicles begin chasing her, and try to force her to pull over.
