Kevin McCarthy said the quiet part out loud: In his mind, the central quality of a candidate for Speaker of the House is what they will do for the lobbyists and special interests “across the street” from Congressional office buildings. What an off-putting and debasing way to evaluate leadership.

🚨BREAKING: Matt Gaetz Moves to Remove Kevin McCarthy as Speaker McCarthy worked with the Democrats over the weekend to pass a vote to prevent a government shutdown. This bipartisanship triggered Gaetz to stand on the house floor today, officially calling for the process to remove him. Now McCarthy, facing a challenge that only two other House Speakers have faced IN HISTORY, must call a vote within two days to see if he has to vacate his seat. I can't believe an act of bipartisanship triggered this vote. We NEED government officials on BOTH SIDES working together to solve the country's problems. Politicians need to learn to put country over party. Do you think McCarthy should be voted out?

Kevin McCarthy has not “earned” the Speakership. You only earn the position of Speaker of the House if you can get the votes. Mr. McCarthy doesn't have the votes.

BREAKING: President Biden just explicitly called out Speaker Mike Johnson on the Ukraine Funding bill. "Early this morning, the United States Senate voted overwhelmingly by a margin of 70-29 to move forward with the bipartisan national security bill. Now it moves to the House, and I urge Speaker Johnson to bring it to the floor immediately. There is no question that if the Senate bill is put to a vote in the House of Representatives, it would pass. So I call on the Speaker to let the full House speak its mind and not allow a minority of the most extreme voices in the House to block this bill from even being voted on." Shouldn't the House vote? Isn't that what Democracy is about?
