20-second journey from then to now: Arxan's one-million-mu planted forest Arxan, at the southwestern foot of the Greater Khingan Mountains in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, once suffered from decades of excessive logging, leading to a sharp decline in forest resources and a steadily worsening ecological environment. In 2012, Arxan completely halted commercial logging in its natural forests, shifting its development model from logging to protection. Over the past decade, through ecological restoration projects including natural forest conservation, mountain closure for forest regeneration, and afforestation, Arxan has protected more than 10 million mu (0.67 million hectares) of natural forests, restored over 1 million mu through natural regeneration, and established more than 300,000 mu of planted forests. Today, Arxan's forest coverage has reached 81.2 percent, while its green vegetation coverage stands at 95 percent. From exploitation to conservation, striking contrasts across time bear witness to Arxan's remarkable transformation from logging forests to restoring and protecting them. Over one million mu of planted forests are now bringing lush greenery back to the land.

On the portal, people can choose a time slot and dedicate some of their time through voluntary service. Earlier, many people wanted to contribute but did not know where to channel their efforts. The plantation drive has been launched as a major campaign with a target of planting 70 lakh trees and saplings across Delhi. Booking for plantation slots will open after July 10, allowing people to reserve the locations where they wish to plant trees. The Forest Department has taken its target, the DDA has taken its target, the Flood and Irrigation Department has taken its target, and every agency, institution, and organisation in Delhi has committed to achieving its respective target. Panchkula’s Khair forest area, over 10,000 trees were allegedly cut overnight using silent cutters. The costly Khair wood was reportedly moved on camels, and the stumps were burned to hide evidence. Forest guard Vijay Kumar, who says seeing trees cut felt like losing family, reported it to the forest minister. Instead of action, he was suspended. Now he is protesting alone in Haryana, a state with only about 3.25% forest cover. The rump regime is expanding its demands over the Strait, refusing to dismantle its nuclear program, and is making more demands on the US. While there were signs earlier that Iranian politicians may make a deal with the US, the IRGC has shown no signs it will. Whoever is leaking to the press and telling Trump to believe Iran now seems to be closer to Obama-Kerry's view on Iran than Trump's.
