Someone help me understand how Meta misses such basic product UX. When you hold down the power button there is no immediate noise or light to confirm it is doing *anything*. You have to look through the lens to know if it’s booting up. It takes about 13 seconds from pressing the button until it makes a noise/light confirming that it’s turning on. Meanwhile the user is thinking, “is the battery dead? Maybe I didn’t hold the button long enough?” You might think this is an irrelevant detail, but find me any device made in the last 5 years that acts like this. Oddly enough, this is a regression from Quest Pro. How does a software company end up with a killer hardware team but struggle so hard with UX?

Is this a SwiftUI bug on iOS 26 or skill issue? I can't make a Toolbar Item tappable all the way to its edges (button 1) However with a default button signature (button 2) it is completely tappable. I've tried everything but can't get rid of that outer padding that it creates

I’m planning a long article about the baghdad battery. But first things first: let me see it working! I don’t care “expert opinion”, facts are facts. So I set up this “baghdad battery” in a rush, as a proof of concept, and TÁDÁMMM! it works. Even this rudimentary setup can produce 0.44 Volts. Copper + iron + orange 🍊 juice. (Which is not really surprising if someone knows the physics behind… it should have 0.78 Volts instead khm.) This is just one battery cell. You can connect them serially to have higher voltage or parallel to reach higher current. This is it for today. I have a lot of 🗿s to cast instead of this stupid battery 🔋

And that's just very unlike him. So it's very hard to hear that as his wife, when I can't do anything about it. I can't help him... When you're stuck in a floating metal prison, essentially in the middle of the water, eating prison-like food with the same people, in the same bunk beds, in the same small quarters for 200 days, 250 days, you start to go a little insane, working 12 hours, getting 4 or 5 hours of sleep. And I truly just can't imagine. And it hurts my heart as his wife to know that he's going through that.”

Using a Tesla Cybercab is almost stupidly simple. You get in. You press a button. It takes you where you want to go. Basically the same way we use an elevator today. Think about it… If you got into an elevator and there was a person inside manually operating it, it would feel weird. But back then, that used to be normal. Now we just press a button and trust the machine to take us to the right floor. Driving is going through that same transition with Tesla… except an elevator moves you up and down. A Cybercab moves you through the 3D world. What feels strange to us today will probably feel completely normal to my kids when they grow up. They may look at a person sitting behind a steering wheel the same way we would look at an elevator operator today. You just press a button and go. That’s how easy Cybercab is.
