The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approves Four projects of Ministry of Railways with total cost of ₹18,658 crore (approx.). The Four projects covering 15 Districts in 3 States i.e., Maharashtra, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by about 1,247 Kms. The mine is expected to generate Rs. 300 crore as annual revenue, providing direct employment for around 1,100 people and indirect employment for about 5,000 locals. Today, we inaugurated two projects in Awbarre District of Faafan Zone: 1) Awbarre Technical and Vocational Training College (built with a total cost of 218 million Birr); and 2) Sheed-dheer Boarding School (built with a total cost of 138 million Birr). Sheed-dheer Boarding School is already providing service, while Awbarre TVET College will start operations at the start of the new fiscal year, i.e., September 2026. Sheed-dheer Boarding School is one of 11 Boarding schools constructed by Somali Regional State after the 2018 political reform. The region now has a total of 18 boarding schools, and the objective is to use these institutions to improve the quality of education in the region. We also visited 3 ongoing projects in the district (namely, Awbarre water supply project, Sheed-dheer water supply project, and Awbarre primary hospital), all of which are planned to be completed within six months. These water and health projects are implemented with a total cost of around 1.2 billion Birr.

The Government has approved an eastern coast railway project forming part of the Howrah–Chennai High Density Network. The corridor spans from Kolkata through Odisha covering Balasore, Bhadrak, Jakhapura, Haridaspur, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda and Berhampur, and extends into Andhra Pradesh through Naupada, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam up to Vijayawada and Chennai. Nadda, will visit Chandigarh tomorrow to inaugurate and dedicate medical projects at PGI worth Rs 1,250 crore. There are three main projects involved.
