#VCFD along with our partners at Ventura City Fire, Oxnard Fire and Santa Paula PD responded to a working structure fire in Santa Paula this morning. Arriving crews were met with heavy smoke and flames showing from the residence with reports of a victim trapped. FFs conducted a rapid and aggressive primary search to locate the victim who was ultimately discovered to have escaped on her own. 2 patients were treated for minor injuries and transported to an area hospital. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Our Air Unit helped ensure the safety of the public by checking for anyone still on or near the trails after the area was closed my Park Police. 🐾😸I'm happy to tell you that today I was able to buy more tinned tuna for the cats, and the cost was the lowest it's been in months. This is thanks to the wonderful friends who have continued their support for us, and I want to sincerely thank you all. I can't explain enough how wonderful it feels when I can feed more of the hungry cats I see around. Since the war stopped, many animals have wandered back into our streets, and they are starving and urgently need our help. They are constantly on my mind, especially at night in the cold. They barely have any body fat to keep them warm, and the nights are starting to become unbearably cold. This also makes me think of all the poor people living outside, some in tents and some without, freezing and hungry. We want to help them, my friends, please do not hesitate to donate towards our cause so we can help them and the animals too. Our mission is supported by elite canine teams trained in: * Scent Detection: Trained to bypass destructive noise and hunt specifically for living humans in rubble. * Rapid Response: When a dog alerts its handler to a “find,” rescue teams immediately move in to breach concrete and steel.
