This might be the most fun I’ve had in Vision Pro yet 😅 In AR Helicopters, you can fly your own miniature chopper using any controller connected to the headset (I used my Switch Pro Controller). While I love the hand and eye controls, the strong haptic feedback of the controller really enhanced the illusion of actually flying the helicopter. The occlusion and sound effects made it feel like a real, physical toy. It just goes to show that after being a productivity powerhouse, a multimedia heaven, and a thousand other things — Vision Pro can also be a very expensive toy for adult children! I’m just glad there wasn’t a real pilot in that helicopter 😂 🔊 Sound on!

while we don’t know for sure if the iPhone mirroring feature will come to the Apple Vision Pro, I sure hope it does. for now, it's available on Mac—i tested it and it's amazing! here’s how you can experience it on your Mac today: 1. make sure both your iPhone and Mac are running the latest beta versions of iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. 2. position your iPhone near your Mac. 3. an icon titled "iPhone Mirroring" will appear on your Mac's Dock. 4. select the "Continue" button on your Mac. 5. unlock your iPhone when prompted. 6. on your Mac, click the "Get Started" button. 7. with your iPhone locked, open the "iPhone Mirroring" app on your Mac. this feature is a game-changer, and i can’t wait for the day it hopefully comes to the Vision Pro!

The public release hits in April, but here’s the rundown of what’s available in visionOS 2.4 Beta today: • Apple Intelligence is coming to Vision Pro! All those rumors that said the first model wouldn’t get it. Dead wrong. We’re getting Image Playground to whip up fun images, Genmoji for custom emojis, and my personal favorite, Writing Tools. This is just the start of Apple Intelligence on Vision Pro and I’m excited to see where it takes us. • Guest User feature! Hand your Vision Pro to someone, and your nearby iPhone or iPad pings with an 'Allow Guest User' option. Spatial videos on Apple Vision Pro are certainly cool, but I’m already taking 3D immersive videos using my iPhone and viewing them in mixed reality on Meta Quest 3 This is one of the most WOW moments I’ve experienced with technology. Recorded memories are in pretty good quality, real size and 6DoF, meaning you can walk around it, get closer. And it’s clear that this is still far from being perfect, but I can feel the presence. Say hello to the reason we’ve been eating so much pizza lately 🍕🍕🍕 “Spatial Pizza” is an interactive Vision Pro experience by Brian (Brian McIntosh) and me. This project has been “cooking” for quite some time, based on a concept I came up with back in July. So here’s the pitch: Imagine you’re in a distant future, you’re hungry, and once again, you’re too lazy to cook. Instead of opening a website and ordering pizza the old-fashioned way with boring drop-down menus and checkboxes, you get to playfully create your pizza right on your living room table. Once you’re done, simply hit “Order,” and your creation will be delivered straight to your doorstep. Well, this isn’t that app—at least not yet—but it’s a lot of fun to create your own wild and controversial pizza creations (yes, we added pineapple) and watch raw realistic 3D ingredients transform into their baked versions. That’s why with "Spatial Pizza" we’re excited to introduce our first demo for the future of spatial food computing. Out now on Apple Vision Pro.

Open Mac apps on your iPhone with my new app choclift 🍫 After extending my Mac screen with Vision Pro, I wanted even more connectivity between devices so I explored the advantage of having a separate user interface just for app management. It seems simple but it actually allows for a lot of new workflows and use-cases as you might think. Everyone works differently so we’re building this app as a platform that will support many different workflows, beyond just opening apps. Stay tuned as I’ll be sharing more in the coming weeks.

Finally got a Vision Pro, and now I can test all the prototypes that I made for VisionOS last year 🥳 My overall impression of Vision Pro: a piece of art. The user experience is very smooth and solid. Developing for VisionOS is a pure joy. No glitches and bugs so far. The real-time interactive updates in the preview are *chef kiss*. People who have been in XR for a while are not really spoiled by things that just work. In this regard, the Vision Pro experience feels magical. We are always happy when a system's behaviour matches our expectations (a little dopamine reward to celebrate the accuracy of our predictions). The greatest features for Spatial Designers: UI panel material highlights, UI panel shadow, and UI panel translucency. It finally makes spatial transformations meaningful (for free!). You see how your UI engages with the environment using visual affordances that people get used to. And yeah, as you can see, I recorded this video at night, and it worked great. So it's excellent news for all-night hackers 😁 #handtracking #directmanipulation #spatialcomputing #spatialdesign #visionpro #visionos #swiftui #mixedreality

So what is real? How do you define ‘real’? Sure, when you see screen recordings of Vision Pro apps here on X, you can usually tell what’s digital and what’s part of the user’s actual environment. But that’s where actually using the device makes all the difference. For me, playing “Spatial Web Shooter” genuinely felt real — not just because its developer, Tango Chen, did an incredible job with the physics and details of the digital objects (just look at that washing machine!), but also because the technology is already convincing enough to trick my brain. For one brief moment last night, it felt like the washing machine, skateboard, and manhole were truly there — and I had superpowers to control them. What a time to be alive.

Mac Virtual Display is the only ‘monitor’ that actually gets sharper as you move closer — it re-renders in real time based on your distance. That’s a huge shift for precision work. For example, if I’m designing fonts, I don’t have to zoom that much anymore. I just lean in, naturally, like I would toward a real object. visionOS in REAL LIFE?! To pitch one of my Vision Pro app concepts to an online interior shop, we prototyped an idea we’ve had for a while: What if you could bring visionOS windows into the real world by printing them onto real frosted glass panels? Not only would this make for a fantastic marketing stunt, but it could also allow people to (kind of) experience these apps in stores without needing to wear a headset at all. Finding the perfect glass, turning a digital design into a printable layout, and producing it took many iterations. Each time, we had to reprint and refine the design, which took several months. For a single pitch, it was definitely too much work, but it was a fun experiment. Looking ahead, I can see this concept becoming the future of advertising Spatial Computing apps in the physical world.
