See the air cannon launch into the violent #tornado? The #Dominator 3 cameras captured this incredible donut vortex around a violent #tornado near St Libory, Nebraska. The Doppler on Wheels measured a 200 mph wind above the ground with this twister. Check out the data set from our historic air cannon launch into the Blue Rapids, Kansas wedge yesterday. The parachute probe completed three loops around the tornado, with greater diameter with height as the dynamic pipe widened This is a huge breakthrough by extreme engineer Will Clay

Check out this incredible 3D trajectory of the parachuted sensor as it completed three revolutions around the #tornado, with widet circumference with height. The sensor then sampled the “vent” at the upper reaches of the dynamic pipe. It reached velocities of at least 140 mph. This is a historic accomplishment in science and engineering by Will Clay

HISTORIC #TORNADO INTERCEPT southwest of Frankfort, Kansas! We launched a sensor into the tornado and it went up past 10,000 feet and did at least three revolutions around the tornado. Incredible data on this sensor #stormchasing #Dominator

We successfully launched a sensor into a tornado with good data back! Here is the first drop of the 3D data!!!! Check out more of our science data on (we are working on better analytics for the site.) This dataset is from the Blue Rapids KS tornado on 5/18/26

Do you see the air cannon? This shows the #Dominator 3 intercepting a violent #tornado near St Libory, Nebraska and the 3-D data set from the Blue Springs, Kansas launch! It is more important now than ever before to never stop chasing! #stormchasing

WE GOT DATA! Check out this first-ever 3-D data set of wind and thermodynamics from the ground up from inside a #tornado! With a peak wind of 131 mph measured above ground, and greater than 115 mph at ground level outside of suction vortices, it appears this tornado was at least an EF2. This data set sheds light on the 3-D structure of the dynamic pipe from ground through the vent, showing a high swirl ratio tornado here. The vent is the powerful updraft at the upper reaches of the dynamic pipe, the strength of which is proportional to the ceiling of the tornado cyclone below. We also computed a pressure perturbation with height, with two maximum deficits happening at launch and farther above ground in the dynamic pipe. Notice the little loop the parachute probe made at the backside of the #tornado at the same time as an RH decrease. We do not believe this is a subvortex here so far above ground. What do you notice with this data? Will Clay LocalMan Weather #stormchasing #Dominator #science

Watch this historic rocket launch into a monster EF4 #tornado by the Team Dominator science team! This marked the first ever recording of wind and thermodynamics in 3D inside of a #tornado. We launched the rocket in perfect position within the inflow notch of this rain-wrapped wedge tornado near Lawrence, Kansas, and tracked the parachute probe as it was carried through the #tornado. ChasinSpin is the scientist behind the sensors and live streaming technology that achieved success with this first launch. We recovered the sensor the next day using Facebook, with Matt DuBois and Jeremy Belk finding the probe in the front yard of a church in Leavenworth, over 30 miles away from the launch site. CurtisBrooks the rocket man broke his ankle with a Dominator 3 door slam the day before this launch, after designing the rockets and the rocket launcher. This was a huge milestone for Team Dominator self-funded #tornado science

Check out this incredible composite video of the #tornado intercept near St. Libory, Nebraska yesterday including our weather station data, video and radar loop. We believe this violent #tornado happened right when the cold front gave the storm a kick in the ass. This accelerated the tornado forward speed and sent it due east. This is from James Pettus You can see our data on

RAW video of the air cannon launch into EF5-strength suction vortex on May 20 this year. I have finally analyzed the live data from the probe, which shows an ~80 mb drop from the Dominator, outside of the tornado, to the core of the tornado. A second dramatic dip in pressure is attributed purely to vertical velocity as the parachute probe lofts upward through the #tornado. I am working to estimate the height of the probe from our 2-3 camera angles, since the GPS failed. We are still working to recover this parachute probe!

Check out this cannon launch into a monster dust buster wedge #tornado that will give you pink eye 100%! Is it worth the risk? 2026 is the year of Team Dominator Science! We will pepper the tornadoes with dozens of sensors at a time for a live tornado intensity estimate. Never stop chasing
