🚨 CHICAGO FLIPS RED: THIS IS WHY BRANDON JOHNSON HAS TO GO Chicago Flips Red watched Michael Young-Bey, his wife, and his daughter — a Chicago Public Schools student — go to City Hall countless times while their family was HOMELESS, begging their city government for help. They weren’t... asking for political favors. They were asking for somewhere to live. We watched Michael stand before city officials again and again explaining that his family was homeless and needed assistance. Mayor Brandon Johnson proudly talks about being a former CPS teacher. Yet a homeless CPS student and her parents were repeatedly showing up at the very City Hall he runs asking for help — and this administration failed to get that family housed. Meanwhile, his administration made the migrant response a major priority, spending millions of taxpayer dollars on shelters, food and other services — including millions connected to 14 Parish’s migrant-meal contract. And what makes this even harder to watch? Black Chicago saw this family asking for help. Pastors saw it. Community leaders saw it. Black men in our communities saw it. And far too many did NOTHING. Now election season is coming, and suddenly everybody wants to organize, hold meetings and talk about protecting political power. OFFICIAL STATEMENT – CHICAGO FLIPS RED December 30,2025 Yesterday, December 29, 2025, two public meetings were scheduled at City Hall: the Budget Committee meeting and the full Chicago City Council meeting. During these meetings, the Democratic-controlled City Council, acting under the direction of Budget Committee Chairman Jason Ervin (28th Ward), violated the First Amendment rights of Chicago Flips Red members Danielle Carter, Lanetta Thomas, and Jessica Jackson, while also violating the Illinois Open Meetings Act. This conduct is not isolated. For three consecutive years, beginning with Chicago Flips Red Founder Zoe Leigh, the City of Chicago has engaged in a pattern and practice of suppressing protected political speech—specifically when residents speak out against corruption, misuse, and alleged laundering of taxpayer dollars. Rather than address the substance of our concerns, the Johnson administration and City Council have increasingly relied on intimidation tactics, including the use of Chicago Police Department officers and the Sergeant-at-Arms to silence speakers. At recent meetings, 20–30 officers were deployed to remove individuals after they attempted to lawfully exercise their right to speak, often after being improperly denied access to the microphone. Mayor Brandon Johnson was recently revealed to have spent $80,000+ on redecorating his wife's office, including $43,000 on furniture alone (a chair costing $2,200+, a desk at $4,4000, 2 chairs totaling $8,300). When asked about it, Johnson essentially says these purchases aren't going to change anything regarding city finances. This all comes at a time when Johnson seeks to get approval for a $1.5 billion bond issuance and a $300 million loan for Chicago Teacher's Union contract demands and the city faces $1 billion deficit and there is the potential for layoffs and cuts, including to police and fire. If you are angry and frustrated, understand this. The #Chicago City Council plans to vote on his $1.25B affordable housing borrowing plan this Friday. This is in addition to the $70M request he has made for #migrant housing and care. This $1.25B money grab is what he really wants - and he wants to use that money to turn Chicago's LaSalle Street into taxpayer-funded apartments for migrants. His Brighton Park tent city failed and his Bring Chicago Home Referendum failed. He can't afford this to fail too. So, don't get distracted by things that won't work. Tonight, President Donald J. Trump revealed that one of the last things Charlie Kirk said to him were the words: “Please sir, save Chicago.” For years, I have questioned leaders like former Mayor Lori Lightfoot and now Mayor Brandon Johnson about violent crime and the economic decline of this great city - at great cost. Many outside of Chicago have told me, sneering over and over again: “Chicago gets what it deserves. Why bother, Kelly?” But I have never believed that saving Chicago was a waste of my time. I was born and raised on Chicago’s South Side, and I love Chicago with all of my heart. That’s why it breaks my heart to see what our city has become. Trump revealed that one of the last things Charlie Kirk said to him were the words: “Please sir, save Chicago.” For years, I have questioned leaders like former Mayor Lori Lightfoot and now Mayor Brandon Johnson about violent crime and the economic decline of this great city - at great cost. Chicago Flips Red Responds to Mayor Brandon Johnson Mayor Brandon Johnson recently said President Donald Trump should “stop wasting billions on illegal wars abroad and instead respond to the calls of working families in Chicago.” Working families in Chicago have been calling for help for years. They’ve been asking for safer neighborhoods, affordable housing, stronger schools, economic opportunity, and accountability at every level of city government. Instead, many residents see homelessness increasing, decades-long waiting lists for public housing assistance, businesses struggling, property crime affecting communities, and young lives lost to violence. Chicago taxpayers deserve answers. We pay some of the highest taxes in the nation. Where is the return on that investment? In our opinion, Chicago’s ongoing crises including public safety, homelessness, housing affordability, education, and the financial impact of the migrant response require greater transparency and accountability. Chicago Flips Red believes federal authorities should thoroughly examine any credible allegations of fraud, waste, abuse, or other violations of federal law. Where warranted by the evidence, the appropriate federal agencies including the FBI, the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, and the U.S. Department of Justice should investigate. We also believe the federal government should evaluate what additional resources are necessary to help restore public safety and public confidence, consistent with the law. We attended the PBC meeting today, and Mayor Brandon Johnson had the nerve to show up like that, socks and shoes on full display, while trying to violate Afro Elite’s freedom of speech. He was telling him what he could and could not talk about in a public meeting. This is the mayor of Chicago. The same mayor who thinks he can silence people, control the conversation, and tell residents how to speak. While fighting for illegal alien rights, they don't have . This is unacceptable. Our work doesn’t stop. I’m on my way to speak with residents who reached out to Chicago Flips Red about the growing concerns of drugs and gang activity on their block. We received several emails asking for help, and hopefully, after we meet, the residents will feel comfortable coming on Zoe Leigh 🇺🇸🌹 youtube channel, and go to City Hall to share what’s really happening and how bad things have gotten in their communities. We know Mayor Brandon Johnson, Governor Pritzker, and these Aldermen don't care Hopefully we can get help, until we can get these criminals out of office. #chicagoflipsred
