Why Christopher Nolan chose everyday American accents and Travis Scott over traditional cinema voices, and why he says the old way has absolutely no logic. Interviewer: I’m curious about the use of American accents. It felt like an intentional choice. Christopher Nolan: To me, I didn't want to look back to the Hollywood of the 50s and 60s where everyone spoke with an elevated Mid-Atlantic or British accent. There's no logic to that. We're trying to be what I find in the poem, which is earthy, grounded, accessible, and stunningly relevant. Travis Walton is probably the most famous "alien abductee" in modern times. In 1975, he was a 22-year old logger who was working with a forestry crew in Arizona when he was taken by Zetas. A movie called "Fire in the Sky" was made about it in 1993 but they changed the story to make it more fear-based and removed important details. Tenet originally scheduled to release July 17, 2020, but COVID changed everything for this film. Tenet’s rollout was completely upended by COVID & for many, it severely impacted the film’s lasting power. But Tenet is too good of a film to be ignored or forgotten- vintage Nolan.
