"Claude. make the most recursive, self-referential presentation you can imagine. seriously go big with this, don't just run with your first idea, revise it multiple times (ironic instruction, yes)" "come on, i said recursive & self-referential. improve it. (see what i did?)"

How do you explain recursion? This one is pretty fun. I had Claude Opus 5.5 make: "A video explaining recursion, where every explanation about recursion has a radically different video style, make this self-referential & clever & fast moving." Nine genre shifts, one prompt...

I seriously don't understand why schools don't use this yet. I've been working on the same idea with Claude! A skill that builds everyday machines you can take apart and play with. Just built a mechanical watch and added it to the site last night. You can wind it, flip it open and watch the little wheel inside tick 8 times a second, 691,200 times a day. Try it yourself, link in the first reply 👇

Recursive self-improvement: Anthropic co-founder Jack Clark says it could arrive by 2028. AI systems could help invent their own successors - with Claude 10 building Claude 11, and so on - potentially “without any researchers involved.”

🚀 AI Deep Dive Episode 3: Recursive Self-Improvement AI can design better chips. Better chips can build better AI. 🚀 Rocket and Ricursive Intelligence co-founders Anna Goldie and Azalia Mirhoseini go deep on the hardware behind recursive self-improvement—and what happens when that loop starts accelerating. – Intro – What Is Recursive Self-Improvement? – Can AI Automate Chip Design? – Co-Designing AI and Hardware – Beyond Today’s Models and Chips – How Much More Efficient Could AI Get? – What Happens When the Loop Accelerates? – Can Alignment Keep Up? – Should We Slow AI Progress?

Elon Musk: We're in the hard takeoff right now. Every successive AI model is built by the one before it. Peter Diamandis: Do you see Grok doing recursive self-improvement at this point? And how? What's the timeline for AGI and ASI? Give us a sense of that. Elon Musk: Yeah, I think we've been in recursive improvement for a while here. If you mean by, like, recursive self-improvement without a human in the loop, is that what you mean? Peter Diamandis: I do. Elon Musk: On the AI software side, I mean, humans are gradually getting less and less in the loop on the recursive self-improvement. So every successive model is built by the one before it. So that is happening to a large degree, but it's not yet fully automated. It may be there end of this year, but not later than next year. Peter Diamandis: Do you see a hard takeoff at that point? Elon Musk: We're in the hard takeoff. Peter Diamandis: Okay. Elon Musk: Right now, yes. I mean, at this point I go to sleep, there's some massive AI breakthrough, and when I wake up, there's another one. Yes. Yeah, it's hard to keep track, honestly. So, yeah, it's a bit of a head spinner. Moonshots with Peter Diamandis (Abundance Summit 2026), March 18, 2026.

Every skill file I write ends with a self-improvement loop. It sits at the bottom of the skill.md and runs before the skill finishes: - Did any step fail or need a workaround? - Did I correct or reject anything meaningful? - Did you discover something a future run might need? Most runs it comes back with one or two suggested edits. I say not needed, or I say run it, and it rewrites its own file. It never edits without asking first, so every change still goes through you. Put the loop at the bottom of the skills you already have and let them self-improve while you use them.

.travis kalanick on finding your business soulmate: "I like to say you go out on a date with an idea. Was it a good date? Did it go well? How did you and the idea get along? Who you are is going to be a big part of which idea works for you. [I call this] finding your sport or your business soulmate. If you're in touch with who you are then when the right idea comes your way you just know."
