@oonagh_cousins The “stop” method is used by therapists to help patients overcome panic attacks. It’s one method out of many and it can help patients who use these techniques. I have #MEandLC. I don’t have a panic disorder, nor do I suffer from anxiety. Stop is wrong for #MEandLC.

Pujya Gurudevshri explains that if the mind is filled with negative thoughts, expecting positive emotions like love, compassion, or friendship is difficult. To experience such emotions, one must work on the thoughts that create them. He suggests taking a few minutes to write down the thoughts that arise about a person, situation, or event, and later returning to assess them. Through this process, one recognises the burden of negative thoughts. By analysing them and identifying their root cause, one begins to realise the need to change one’s attitude and perspective. Without such a shift, the same thoughts continue to persist. Practice this and observe how freeing the mind from negative thoughts allows love and compassion to arise naturally.
