MMRDA Begins Resurfacing Works on Atal Setu for Enhanced Durability & Riding Comfort The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has initiated comprehensive resurfacing and pavement restoration works on the Atal Setu, ensuring long-term strength and superior riding comfort for commuters. To avoid complete closure of the bridge, the work is being carried out in phases. The third and fourth lanes will be resurfaced first, and once completed, the remaining two lanes will be taken up. After observing pavement distress in certain localised stretches on the Navi Mumbai–bound carriageway, starting at the 10.4 km mark, mainly on the outer heavy-vehicle lanes, MMRDA conducted a detailed technical review. Temporary rectification using mastic asphalt was carried out during the monsoon to maintain smooth traffic flow and ensure commuter safety. Now that the monsoon has subsided, full-fledged resurfacing operations have commenced. The works are being executed under the expert guidance of IIT Bombay, covering every stage — from material selection and mix design to plant-level and on-site quality control. Since the project is still under the defect liability period, the entire cost will be borne by the contractor. MMRDA remains committed to maintaining world-class standards of quality, safety, and durability on the Atal Setu — ensuring a safe, seamless, and smooth driving experience on India’s longest sea bridge. We thank all commuters for their cooperation and regret the inconvenience caused during the resurfacing works. #TransformingMMR #RebootingMumbai #ReshapingMMR #MumbaiInMinutes #MMRDA #MMRDA50 #ViksitMumbai4ViksitBharat #FutureReadyMumbai #RebootReshapeReconnect #MumbaiInfrastructure #InvestInMMR #MMRProgress #BuildingTheFuture #SmartInfrastructure #UrbanTransformation #VisionMMR Devendra Fadnavis Eknath Shinde - एकनाथ शिंदे Dr. Sanjay Mukherjee PIB in Maharashtra 🇮🇳

Have you been following the story of Punch, the macaque? 🐒 His adorable videos have gone viral, but his story is heartbreaking. It’s a reminder of just how deeply wired we are for connection. Born last July, Punch was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth. Raised by caring Japanese zookeepers, he struggled to integrate with the other macaques. To ease his anxiety and loneliness, staff introduced a plush orangutan toy. What happened next? Punch latched onto it like a lifeline, clinging to it for comfort, sleeping with it, eating beside it, and carrying it everywhere. It's a window into the primal needs of infants across species. Punch's bond with his stuffed "mom" echoes groundbreaking research in attachment theory, like Harry Harlow's 1950s experiments with rhesus monkeys. Harlow showed that baby monkeys, when given a choice between a wire "mother" that provided milk and a soft cloth one that offered no food, overwhelmingly chose the snuggly cloth surrogate for comfort. Food sustains the body, but touch and security undergird our longterm emotional wellbeing. Punch's story brings this to life in real time: without a real maternal figure, he improvised with what felt safe and soft. Now, translate that to human babies. Psychologists like John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth pioneered attachment theory, arguing that infants need a secure base - a responsive caregiver who provides consistent love, touch, and reassurance - to thrive. Without it, kids can face lifelong challenges: anxiety, difficulty forming relationships, even impacts on mental health. “Transitional objects" like a child's favorite blankie or teddy bear aren’t just toys; they're stand-ins for security when parents aren't around. Punch's plush orangutan is the monkey equivalent. In a world where human parents juggle work, stress, and screens, it's a nudge: prioritize those cuddles and connections early on. But Punch's tale isn't all heartbreak. At 7 months old, he's slowly warming up to his troop, using his toy as a bridge to build confidence. It's a testament to resilience and the power of even surrogate attachments to heal. As for us? We undermine attachment at our own risk. It underscores why we need to allow time and space for emotional bonding - spotlighting the need for robust paid family leave in a nation where 1 in 4 new mothers must return to work within 2 weeks of giving birth. Securely attached kids grow into healthier, more empathetic, and confident adults. Next time you see a baby (human or otherwise) clutching a comfort item, remember: it's nature's reminder that we all need to feel safe and connected to find success in the world.

A guy running quant models for a tennis betting syndicate DM'd me last month. "We spend $40K/month on data feeds. What are you using?" A webcam pointed at a tennis stream. Not metaphorically.YOLO tracks both players and the ball 30fps. A second model maps the court to real meters. Every 5 seconds I get three numbers: aggression positioning, court coverage, rally intensity. Those feed into a Bayesian engine. Beta prior on serve probability, updated every game, 15,000 Monte Carlo sims sampling from the posterior. Not point estimates - distributions with confidence intervals. 62% +/- 3% is a trade. 62% +/- 18% is noise. Most people never compute the interval. "Okay but models are wrong" That's why the model is only layer two out of five Layer three connects Polymarket and a bookmaker simultaneously. When my model says 71%, Polymarket says 62%, bookmaker says 67% - something is mispriced. Layer four is the unfair one. Claude reads every press conference transcript, news article, and social post from the last 48 hours. Extracts structured signals - injury flags, form deltas, surface comfort. JSON, not vibes. A player mentioned shoulder tightness at a presser. Claude flagged injury probability 0.25. Bookmaker didn't adjust for 3 hours. Polymarket never did. I was already in Layer five compares all four sources and finds the edge. Value, arbitrage, fade, or intel override when Claude catches something critical. "What's your hit rate" 2,400 ATP matches backtested. Model alone: 61%. With market bridge: 67%. With Claude: 72% Live 11 weeks: 247 contracts, 178 winners, +$14,200 from $1,800 He went quiet then wrote "my syndicate is rethinking our entire pipeline. We've been doing this 6 years and never used CV on live streams" They spend $40K/month. My setup: a Claude subscription and an API key Bot:

tripleS’ Dahyun and DJ Kim Shinyoung talk about Taeyeon on radio 📻 💌💜 Dahyun: (reading message from viewer) I heard our Dahyun's role model is Taeyeon sunbaenim. Since you're Taeyeon's close friend, Shin-DJ, could you play matchmaker and build a bridge between them? Shinyoung: Ah really, are you a Taeyeon kid? (meaning grew up being influenced by Taeyeon) Dahyun: I really really love her! Shinyoung: Since when have you liked her? Dahyun: Since my first year of middle school. Shinyoung: If it was then… which song got you into her? Dahyun: It was when ‘I’ came out. Shinyoung: What really gives me goosebumps right now is that you were in middle school when ‘I’ came out! (…) What was the moment that made you fall for her as a fan? Dahyun: At the beginning, I watched the music video, as soon as I saw it, I don’t know, it was like why is my heart beating? I felt like this. Shinyoung: It’s a romantic comic. Dahyun: It was a difficult time for me, I was thinking ‘I want to be an idol, but I don’t have the confidence’ it was a time like that. When I heard her voice, it gave me a lot of comfort, I got the hope to live. Shinyoung: Ah, so it was comforting to you. Then let’s give a voice letter to Taengoo Taengoo Kim Taengoo! Dahyun: Taeyeon sunbaenim, hello! I’m the main vocalist Seo Dahyun of tripleS! I really hope you see this. I’m so nervous that a day like this has come so I can say this. I really love you so so so much. I listen to your songs about 5 times a day before sleeping. If it weren’t for Taeyeon sunbaenim, I can’t even predict what I would be doing right now. If I get the chance next time, I want to do a duet with you! I love you!

Europe Builds. Others Profit. 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) is the perfect case study. It reflects both Europe’s brilliance and its chronic inability to turn that brilliance into business. Almost everything that made 3DGS possible was born in Europe. From the early breakthroughs in point-based rasterization in Switzerland to the cumulative research from Austria, Greece, and Germany executed in France, Europe built the foundation. No other continent can match that level of scientific collaboration and intellectual strength. The LichtFeld Studio bounty later confirmed it: the biggest performance leaps came straight out of European labs. The science was here. The innovation was here. The talent was here. But the business was not. When 3DGS exploded, my inbox filled with messages from US-based companies, not from Europe. In the United States, Luma AI and Polycam turned the paper into products within weeks. They did not wait for funding programs or EU consortia. They simply built. Then came China, which not only caught up in research but quickly outpaced everyone in commercialization. XGRID, DJI, and many others built thriving businesses around what Europe invented. Today, most 3DGS papers come from Chinese institutions rather than European ones. Meanwhile, the usual giants such as Meta, NVIDIA, Google, Netflix, and Tesla continue to iterate, integrate, and push forward. A thriving ecosystem of startups like World Labs leverages this technology to create new products and markets. The innovation cycle in the United States and China is fast, relentless, and market-driven. Europe, in contrast, remains bureaucratic and slow. We fund excellence and celebrate publications, but we rarely ship, even though some small startups are trying to change the status quo. Our researchers create the breakthroughs; others create the successful products. Until Europe finds a way to bridge the gap between laboratories and markets, it will remain the world’s research and development department: brilliant, underpaid, and underleveraged. Research is Europe’s comfort zone. Execution must become its strength. Video: One of my dynamic 3D Gaussian implementations based on the paper "Representing Long Volumetric Video with Temporal Gaussian Hierarchy."

As someone working in Advertising and PR, this year’s trust data reads like a strategic reset for our industry! The Edelman Trust Barometer 2026 report shows 70% of people globally hesitate to trust someone who differs from them in values, beliefs, or background. Only 32% believe the next generation will be better off. Exposure to differing political viewpoints has fallen to 39%, and 76% say distrust across differences has become a national problem. Together, these shifts point to a structural change in how trust is formed. The institutional hierarchy reinforces this direction. 78% of employees trust their employer to do what is right. Business stands at 64%, NGOs at 58%, media at 54%, and government at 53%. Trust is concentrating around lived experience. Confidence rises inside workplaces while weakening across larger systems. For brand builders, that reshapes the equation. Mass messaging alone cannot bridge divided interpretations. Cultural visibility no longer guarantees shared meaning. Influence flows through internal culture, leadership behavior, and employee credibility. One statistic stands out: 42% would switch departments rather than report to a manager with different values. Identity alignment is shaping workplace decisions. Internal cohesion now directly influences external legitimacy. Employee experience and brand experience operate as one system. The risk is rising insularity. As hesitation to trust across differences grows, organizations can default to comfort and similarity, limiting collaboration and strategic adaptability. Leaders therefore carry a clear mandate. They must act as trust brokers by engaging across differences, enabling constructive dialogue, and making accountability visible. Trust is built through consistent decisions and behavior that matches stated values. Rebuilding trust across institutions and within teams is essential for sustained progress. Trust enables alignment. Alignment enables execution. Execution strengthens reputation. From a communications standpoint, this is the inflection point: Reputation will outperform reach. Credibility will outperform creativity. Trust architecture will outperform attention spikes. In 2026, brands investing in internal trust, leadership transparency, and value clarity will build durable equity. Those pursuing visibility without coherence will struggle to sustain relevance. Appreciation to the Edelman Trust Institute team for the longitudinal data informing this shift in the communications playbook. When Turnbull approached Labor, they rejected him. Paul Keating thought he would be destructive to the Party. Smart Keating. The Liberals on the other hand warmly welcomed him, and it is safe to say, it has destroyed them. Like trying to seek comfort in fire by hugging it, the Liberals embraced Turnbull. Howard even convinced him to stay when he thought of quitting, and it burns still. Malcolm Turnbull wants you to believe that the Liberals are too far to the right, and that is what has caused the rapid rise of Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party. He wants you to think it is all the fault of Sky News - which is a very difficult claim to make. Especially when you consider the size of One Nation’s polling numbers in light of the current size of Sky News audience. If you believe that Sussan Ley is on the centre-right or even centrist, I might have a bridge to sell you. She is at best on the centre-left, and is being propped up by people who, like Turnbull, have no idea what people who oppose Labor really want. I think Turnbull, Ley and the rest appeal exclusively to the very affluent. Particularly those that need the government to prop-up their latest business venture. Their Teal purpose is confused by the Liberal brand. It hurts them. The Teals do a much better job of appealing to the private school educated public servant than anyone in a Liberal vest. Turnbull is a champagne socialist. Only too happy to dole out taxes to the masses with reckless abandon as cover for the big cheques and favour for the corporate grifters. Hardly any different to Labor on social or economic policy. He was always in the wrong party. His cohort in the Liberal Party are elitist absolutists. They don’t believe those to the right of them have a right to exist in the party, or to get representation in Australia - at all. This is evidenced in his silky-smooth statement on the ABC today. That might be ok if they were not ideologically aligned with the Labor Party and the Greens. People deserve choice. I think most Australians are now searching for an option that is not Turnbull influenced Ley and her Liberal Party, the Albanese Labor Party or the Greens. Most people grow increasingly fed up with a political establishment that have stopped representing their founding principles, and the things that people really care about. Which I can assure you is not how hard it is to “permit” the latest green energy waste of taxpayer money. Just listen to the priorities thinks will put Labor to the sword. More like a lesson in how to instruct your management consultants, or how to tame your lobbyist. Just nonsense. Out of touch nonsense. They have robbed the people frustrated with the status quo of a quality choice. It is in fact the left-wing Liberals that have caused the rise of One Nation. It is them, exclusively. What’s worse, Turnbull thinks the current Liberal Party is too far to the right, and that if they move further left, people will abandon One Nation and vote Liberal again. It is comedy gold, it really is. I don’t know how he held his composure. He couldn’t possibly believe what he was saying. He must have been holding back the laughter. I know I was. It would be even funnier if Albanese wasn’t in a position to completely destroy what is left of this country. The sooner Malcolm Turnbull takes his loyalists, sycophants and head nodders from the Liberal Party, and builds his own centrist (left-wing), climate grifting, immigration pumping, lobbyist led political party, the sooner the centre-right will heal, and restore hope to the Australian political landscape again. I say go Malcolm, take Sussan Ley, Alex Hawke, Julian Leeser, Maria Kovacic, Matt Kean, Nick Campbell and Michael Photios and the rest with you. Go be the Teal terror you were always destined to be. Prove to us that the Australian people want what you’re selling. But don’t denigrate the people that pay the taxes and that prop-up all the games you all play – please at least show them some respect. Respect those that clean your toilets, fix your plumbing and fence your farm. They deserve representation too. They’re hurting Malcolm, and Labor have abandoned them completely. I just want Australia back.
