NEW: Plane had to make an emergency landing at a Southern California state beach as beachgoers enjoyed the summer sun. Mike Bremner was flying the 2 seater plane from John Wayne Airport when the engine had an issue shortly after takeoff. “At that point we ran a very quick check to try to get the engine going again… Given that we were out about 1,000 feet, we had to determine very quickly where to land. We chose the beach.” The plane, owned by the Elder Abuse Air Force, which guards seniors from financial fraud and physical abuse, landed safely on Huntington State Beach, and there were no injuries reported.
