Tata Harrier EV has won the design poll on our forums with a fair margin and as a product with Rs 21.49 lakh (65 kWh), Rs 24.99 lakh (75 kWh) Rs 28.99 (All Wheel Drive and 75 kWh) It has redefined value for money and has set the competition worried. Mahindra EVs are still competitive especially XEV 9e but cars like their own Curvv EV, Creta EV and ZS EV look expensive if you consider size and battery packs. With a bar raised so high, it’s always good for the customer with more competitive choices.

Owning an EV as your only car might come with some headaches in Ludhiana, considering the power situation here and certain warranty clauses. I plugged the Creta EV in for charging this evening, but the power went out immediately due to the weather. Now that it’s back, the voltage is fluctuating across all phases, so it looks like I’ll have to charge it tomorrow once everything is fully stable again. This is one of the top RERA & GLADA approved colonies on Southern Bypass. Excellent technology, but the infrastructure still has a long way to go.

Plugged into a 1000kW charger, the BYD South Africa Han EV will charge its 83kWh battery from 0-100% in 5 minutes or less. This means it can charge the car faster than the average fuel pump could fill up an average car. This, in my opinion, is world-changing technology. Of course, the challenge for cities, EV charging providers and car makers is to build and upgrade general infrastructure to support this. But the reality is, this is not a science experiment hidden away in a lab - this is in public use right now in China. Watching this car charge like in real time has had quite a profound effect on me. One day I hope to review this car for The Cars.co.za Team back on home soil!

Target audience & their priorities are totally different. It ooze perfection in looks, overall materials quality, build, paint, safety features & practicality. Fully loaded with all safety & convenience features like 9 Airbags, ADAS L2, 19 inch alloys, 15 inches infotainment screen with branded speakers, drive modes, multi link suspension, IQ.Light LED, youthful looking cabin with Varenna Leatherette seats. No Physical AC controls is a big miss imho and this car needs to have a cheaper 5 seater version too like Kodiaq Lounge. The best part of this car is how it looks. Too imposing & classy!

Tata Sierra’s Launch Should Be Tata’s Tiago Moment in C2 & D segment. The Tata Sierra launch should be the Tiago moment for Tata, which helped them crack the code and later paved the way for the Nexon and Punch. With fine pricing and positioning, they grabbed a lion’s share from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. With the Sierra, the inspiration should come from the Mahindra XUV700, how Mahindra priced it so aggressively upfront and rattled the competitors. With 1.5 GDi Turbo, Diesel, and EV, as a customer, I understand that pricing it too aggressively might not be feasible, but they can definitely try to sell the first 30,000 units without profit to shake the competition in the C2 & D segments (Creta and XUV700 segments). The car looked great in person with that ‘I WANT THAT’ factor. Panel gaps, exterior quality, fully covered inner wheel arches, and uniform rubber beading gave the car a polished and precise look. Thankfully, Tata didn’t go overboard with the design, making it overly futuristic. Instead, they kept it old school in multiple areas with a blend of modern touches. In white and silver color, this car will definitely look great! The rear looks slightly chopped off to maximize boot space and interior room, unlike the older Sierra, where the rear bumper protruded. But despite that, it still manages to look good overall, as seen in the video. The famous signature rear window curve is smartly designed to give the new Sierra its classic identity. I am least concerned about how many screens it will have, but I hope the final interiors retain that blend of old-school design elements. Features, comfort, build quality, and practicality remain Tata’s core strengths, and I am sure the Sierra will deliver on all these fronts once launched. Lastly, this was the only truly worthy car at Auto Expo this year.

I lived with a Chinese EV for a few weeks to see if the hype is real. The car costs $42K, and turns out it feels like $75K+ EASILY One of the most impressive things I've ever reviewed: - A+ software and features. Feels like what would happen if Apple made a car - Build quality is excellent all the way around. And materials (leathers, metals, etc) are all premium - It crushes all the fundamentals to make it livable: 320 miles range, super comfortable seats, excellent air suspension, active noise cancellation, great displays and cameras, bright clear HUD, Self driving - It has a MODULAR interior design (detailed in the video) - Performance is sneaky great. This is just the "SU7 Max" spec, but 660 horsepower 0-60 in 2.8 seconds? Sheesh

Waymo is being marketed as a “Green environmentally friendly” because they are “all-electric, zero-emission vehicles” But take a look at this, the entire fleet here in Austin Texas is being charged with Diesel generators…. Just another scam Here’s something even more crazy, I looked it up and found that charging electric vehicles like this with diesel generators is actually WORSE for the environment than if you were to just buy and drive a gas powered vehicle So this means not only is it a scam, but it’s worse for the environment than just driving a normal car

This 320i has near perfect weight distribution. Analogue, direct and completely connected to the driver. Simple, driver-focused cockpit with supportive seats. Build quality is high for the period, though plastics and electrics can degrade after 30 to 40 years. You don’t need huge numbers to enjoy it. The driving feel does the work. That is why this car has gone up in price as well because over the years its got tougher to find one.

Variants with 59 kWh are cheaper. Tata has been exceptionally smart with pricing, features, and marketing. Leveraging the existing Harrier design likely helped keep costs in check. Tata is smartly targeting potential petrol SUV buyers as well, offering a real-world range of over 480 km (75 kWh) with the Harrier EV. Many of these buyers had previously skipped the diesel Harrier for various reasons. This aggressive pricing will also put pressure on global manufacturers to price their EVs more competitively. We’ve already seen the backlash with the Creta EV pricing fiasco. Both products are compelling and offer strong value, but the Harrier EV 65 kWh at ₹21.50 lakh is an absolute steal.

* Harrier EV pricing will change market dynamics * With the Harrier EV priced at just ₹24.99 lakh for the 75 kWh variant and ₹21.50 lakh for the 65 kWh version, Mahindra might be slightly concerned, especially with the XEV 9e starting at above ₹30 lakh for the 79 kWh variant. Variants with 59 kWh are cheaper. Tata has been exceptionally smart with pricing, features, and marketing. Leveraging the existing Harrier design likely helped keep costs in check. Tata is smartly targeting potential petrol SUV buyers as well, offering a real-world range of over 480 km (75 kWh) with the Harrier EV. Many of these buyers had previously skipped the diesel Harrier for various reasons. This aggressive pricing will also put pressure on global manufacturers to price their EVs more competitively. We’ve already seen the backlash with the Creta EV pricing fiasco. Both products are compelling and offer strong value, but the Harrier EV 65 kWh at ₹21.50 lakh is an absolute steal.

There are many people who find out that they were not the first owner of the car when they decide to sell it or trade it. Basically meaning the car they bought was never brand new. YES IT IS TRUE !! This caller was sold a brand new car in 2012 with its so called warranties they never got the car fixed until the Dealer refused to continue fixing it and basically told him to go fly a kite. Are motor warranties really worth having ? We believe they should be explained thoroughly before the person signs up. There are Dealers in Ventersdorp who have these written even in Afrikaans, why can’t these things be normalised and be put in all South African languages. We are sick and tired of Dealers selling products to people, products that do not hold any weight !! This car was most probably not brand new. This is Part 2 of this ⬇️ Context of this story, Mr Mthetwa bought a car from Hyundai, the car has been serviced on time and is still under warranty. The engine now has issues and Hyundai is blaming Bosch for putting in Bosch plugs and they further say it’s the Bosch plugs that caused the damage. Now Hyundai is refusing to fix the car !! Bosch did a technical analysis and diagnosis and found that those engines have this common issue. They say the engine itself is a mess. Now Mr Mthetwa is without a vehicle the case is with Ombudsman and Ombudsman says it will take time because it’s a technical matter. What is frustrating is that Mr Mthetwa did nothing wrong and adhered to all warranty requirements yet he is now without a drivable car. Leaves us questioning this warranty thing, should we rather save this money and sort ourselves out? View4You has now offered to help and journey with him, we are going to involve RIGHT TO REPAIR Kate Elliott and take this case straight to competition commission. Renault Duster will pose a serious threat to 1500 cc turbo Kushaq, Taigun, Seltos Turbo and somewhat European sedans too initially until Hybrid comes. Design is extremely tasteful, interiors quality is 8.5/10, screen & cockpit thing is tastefully done, has that macho yet classy appeal. But with an absence of Diesel, Naturally Aspirated and Hybrid (for now), it still targets a niche customer who look for driving dynamics & performance from a Turbo Engine. Hybrid upfront would have given this car a great momentum because it feels & looks better than Japanese cars in this segment. The only way to offset this absence of NA, Diesel, CNG & Hybrid is by pricing 1.3 Turbo extremely aggressively at around 12.80L something to 17.50L initially. It’s a near perfect package for someone driving 50:50 or 60:40 (city & highways) with segment best torque but that’s about it as a package of looks + features + dynamics + suspension + performance. We are still leaving out big chunk who look for 80:20 use. Once Hybrid will be there along with two turbo engines, Duster will surely get the numbers that brand is looking for. It will help Kiger slightly too. Exciting times ahead.

Honda Zero Alpha in 2027 will not be late to the EV party in India, as the EV market is still evolving, and a rightly priced car will always find plenty of takers. The design looks futuristic, practical, and polished in a good way, reflecting top-notch quality. I just hope that the black piano-finish exterior claddings use high-quality materials to avoid dust scratches. The overall vibe around the product felt positive and carried that subtle ‘want’ factor. It doesn’t scream for attention but stands out in a good way. If Honda can position it smartly against the Hyundai Creta EV, eVitara and Tata Curvv EV segment, they can definitely achieve good sales numbers and establish a strong launchpad for their future EVs.
