The CEO of BlackRock, Larry Fink, admits that the trillions of dollars being used to build data centers and power grids will come from ordinary people’s savings accounts and pension funds, and says it is mandatory. He says America needs trillions in AI infrastructure spending, and that people will be forced to “invest” in it. “Much of this will come from savings accounts and pension accounts.”

Murphy: Yeah, Anthropic is right in the objections that they raised, and it should be bone-chilling that this administration is using the power of the government to try to cripple an American corporation. What they’re saying is that if you don’t support us politically, we’re going to put you out of business. Most big corporations do business with the federal government, and the government always has the ability to effectively shut down a company. But we’ve never allowed that to happen based on a political difference between that company and the administration.
