Pylon's 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 is our Analytics. That ends today. We've completely rebuilt our Analytics from scratch. Here's what we tried, what we screwed up, and what's coming. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭, The Basics (Nov 2023) Our first attempt at analytics was quite loved by customers. At the time our customers were mostly small startups with simple needs. We built an out-of-the-box set of dashboards that covered the common use cases of support analytics (SLA-tracking, CSAT, TTFR, TTR, basic filtering...). As we moved upmarket... 1/ Everyone was requesting custom metrics 2/ Queries were becoming inefficient and slow We needed an upgrade. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮, Advanced Reporting (June 2024) We knew custom reporting was going to be blackhole of work that long-term led to fully customer-customizable dashboards. We had four choices: 1/ Do nothing for now 2/ Do custom work per customer 3/ Build full custom reporting in-house 4/ Use an embeddable analytics vendor At the time Pylon was under 10 people total and we had no capacity to do the frontend work so we chose Option 4 (use a vendor). This was the first time we chose to not build a core feature like this in-house as we ultimately want full control of the end-user experience. We built out the new reporting with the chosen vendor over ~3 weeks. On the surface the new reporting looked really good (not visually, but in terms of functionality). You could add custom charts of any type, create custom formulas, label the Y and X axis, and effectively build most of what you would want. It was really great for demos. But in practice it was incredibly hard to use, lacked core capabilities (like the ability to filter off of dynamic custom fields), and visually looked not stylized to the rest of the product. We started to discover some of these issues during the implementation, but it still felt like there was more upside than downside so we released it. Feedback was not great but we hoped our vendor would fix changes quickly. Unfortunately they weren't fast enough and we lost confidence that they would be a good long-term solution. As a stop-gap we also built out a data warehouse integration so customers could export their data back to Snowflake or BigQuery to use with their own BI tools. Finally, a few months ago the vendor told us they were being acquired. That was the final straw. We needed to move off ASAP. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟯, New Reporting (Today) Today's release is back to being built entirely in-house. It's been rolled out in beta to all customers with an option to flip back to old analytics until we plug some custom reporting gaps. This time we have the capacity to do it right between Wendy (prev product design at Amplitude), Matt, and Tom. We've managed to greatly improve: 1/ Desired filter options (custom field support) 2/ Performance 3/ Setup UX 4/ Style (looks native) Early feedback has been really positive so far and as we bring it out of beta we're thinking about how to make the best natively-offered reporting of any support platform. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟰 (What's coming soon) To get to first-class reporting, we need to study not only our learnings, but also what the incumbents have screwed up as well. Funny enough, Zendesk's analytics have similar complaints to our v2, and for the exact same reason as we did: they integrated an external tool. In 2015 they bought a company called BIME Analytics which they became Zendesk Explore. The complaints they have to this day are similar to our v2: 1/ Steep learning curve 2/ Advanced, yet still not enough flexibility 3/ Random feature gaps 4/ Data accuracy and reliability concerns 5/ Performance issues 6/ Complicated UX v4 will follow three core principals: Offer a simple default setup. We want to continue being startup friendly and we'll feature gate custom reporting and data exports by tier in the product. Offer maximal configuration, with AI-assisted setup. As we go upmarket, customers will want to Explore (pun intended) data in every single direction. We need to allow them to do that. For those more complicated use cases we think AI will be the Ultimate (also pun intended) way to reduce setup friction. Build it all in-house. Although using a 3rd party embedded analytics provider didn't work for us, we don't think that is the case for everyone. It's just in customer support, reporting is REALLY important. They are probably some of the highest-complexity reporting of most SaaS vendors (maybe second to marketing products). So... we have to do it right. Hi everyone! Just rolled out access for NoSpoon Studios to the first 110 folks or so. Huge thanks to Karan and Amit at Luma - thanks to them, I have a few more people that had commented getting complimentary beta access soon as well :). These videos are created with a single agent that does everything from concept to completion (including editing the video together). Therer are longer options too, but for the sake of cost and this demo, you'll be working with 20s max generations. The entire agent was built to only run Ray2 as the video model. My stack is this custom agent of mine (using OAI) > Ray2 for the video > Replit for the app for now. In the meantime, for those with access: here's a video tutorial on how to use the site. I'm quite exhausted, but here's the gist: 1. Sign up (and remember your password lol). Beta testers got free credits, but these are a bit limited - rolling out to a few more peeps but have to budget and need to expand my current code (which means redeploying - so expect more of you to have 2 free credits and access tmr! I have to find out the max I can allot with budget). 2. Just hit "generate short video" without anything in the prompt box and the agent will start immediately with the logline. Be very patient, wait about 6-8 minutes, and it will continue to output all of the scenes and processing - it's very important you do not refresh or navigate away from that tab at this time. You'll see your final video generated and displayed at the bottom of your screen once complete, along with a watermark (paid users don't have a watermark). You can also access your loglines and videos in your history tab, too :). You must refresh the page only after your generation in order to generate a new video - otherwise you'll lose your generation (annoying I know). 3. You can also input your own custom prompt! Control the story this way. Single words work great even, like "thriller" or "spy thriller set in greece" or even "black and white film noir" etc etc. It's not as great with animated styles yet for consistency, just a heads up. 4. F350 Rear Differential Service done right. Step by step pure ASMR. ​If you want to keep your heavy-duty truck running smoothly, keeping up with your differential maintenance is non-negotiable. Whether you are dealing with a standard cover or a high-capacity unit, taking the time to properly clean, seal, and refill your rear diff will save you from major mechanical headaches down the road. ​Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the exact process shown in the video to get the job done right. ​Step 1: Remove the Housing Bolts ​Pop the truck up on a lift or secure it on jack stands. Position a drain pan underneath the differential. Grab an impact wrench and begin backing out all of the bolts securing the differential cover to the housing. ​Pro-Tip: Leave one or two bolts loosely threaded at the very top of the cover. This keeps the cover from falling completely off and splashing old gear oil everywhere once you break the factory seal. ​Step 2: Drain the Old Fluid ​Once the lower bolts are removed, use a chisel and a dead-blow hammer to gently tap the lower edge of the cover. Pry it open slightly to break the old gasket seal and let the fluid drain smoothly into your catch pan. Once the majority of the oil has drained, remove the top safety bolts and take the cover completely off. ​Step 3: Prep the Differential Housing ​With the gears exposed, stuff a clean shop rag inside the housing cavity to protect the ring and pinion from any loose debris. Use a gasket scraper or razor to carefully peel away the old silicone sealant from the mating surface. Follow up with a die grinder equipped with a surface conditioning disc to polish the flange completely clean, then remove the rag and wipe down the interior edge with brake cleaner. ​Step 4: Deep Clean the Diff Cover ​Take the removed differential cover over to a parts washer. Use a solvent brush to scrub out any residual sludge, metal filings, and old oil. If the exterior has built-up road grime or rust, give it a quick pressure wash or hose down. Finally, use an air blow gun to thoroughly dry the cover, ensuring absolutely no moisture or solvent remains inside. ​Step 5: Apply New RTV Sealant ​Lay the clean cover flat on your workbench. Grab a high-performance RTV silicone sealant (ensure it is rated for gear oil exposure) and lay down a clean, continuous bead along the center of the mating flange. Make sure to loop around the inside of each bolt hole to prevent future leaks. ​Step 6: Reinstall the Cover and Torque ​Carefully align the cover back onto the differential housing, making sure not to smudge the fresh RTV bead. Hand-start all of your bolts to avoid cross-threading. Once they are all in place, use a ratchet to tighten them down in a star pattern, ensuring even pressure across the gasket surface. ​Step 7: Fill with Fresh Gear Oil ​Locate the fill plug on the side or rear of the differential and remove it. Grab your premium synthetic fluid—such as SAE 75W-85 hypoid gear lubricant. Insert the bottle nozzle into the fill hole and squeeze the fluid in. You will need to continue filling until the fluid level reaches the bottom edge of the fill hole and just begins to weep out. ​Step 8: Reinstall the Fill Plug & Inspect ​Wipe away any excess fluid that leaked out during the filling process. Reinstall the fill plug and torque it to spec. Give the entire assembly one final look to ensure your seals are clean and dry.

A little update on Yuki ❤ She's had a few medicated baths along with her med's and is looking a lot cleaner. Her skin problems are also showing signs of improvement already 😍 At the moment she's still very fragile, but she has the will to get better 💪💪💪 At first, all she wanted to do was lay down in her bed, which is understandable because her body needs to start to recover. She's now started to take little walks, so we've covered her bare skin with a T-shirt to avoid sun burn. We're so happy that she's taking these little steps! 😍🐶🥰 Yuki's currently on 4 small meals of recovery food daily, to allow her stomach to get used to digesting again. She's actually getting up to go and eat when she smells the food now, which is wonderful 😊 She's still struggling to walk and has quite a way to go before she's fully fit, but all the signs seem to be good! She's definitely going in the right direction 😊💪🐶❤❤❤ Yuki is only one of many we're helping by providing food, shelter, veterinary care, medication and a dedicated team to give them all the love and care they need. There is a massive misunderstanding about what $APP actually is, and the recent Adam Foroughi interview just handed investors as a class in capital allocation, efficiency, and strategic vertical integration. At its core, AppLovin isn’t solely an ad-network or a gaming business but an arbitrage engine. APP is essentially run by a skeleton crew of about ~400 core engineers and product builders generating $1.3B in cash flow a quarter. The gaming studio acquisitions were purely strategic. From roughly 2018 to 2023, APP bought up mobile gaming studios. It was accumulating over 15 studios and 1,500 headcount. This was not because they wanted to be a gaming company, but strictly to harvest first-party conversion data. They needed proprietary behavioral and return on ad spend data to train their Axon deep learning models because third-party advertisers wouldn't share it. Once the Axon 2.0 model launched in April 2023, it became so hyper-effective that the entire gaming industry had no choice but to plug in and share their data to access the platform's unparalleled returns. Having served its purpose, APP then shed the distraction, selling off the gaming portfolio to Tripledot Studios. This was pure strategic rent extraction. They used the asset to train the AI, built the moat, and immediately dumped the asset. Then there is the capital allocation execution. Back in 2022, when the broader market abandoned the stock and pushed APP's market cap to a floor of $3.8B, the business was still printing over $1 B in EBITDA. Instead of executing standard open-market share repurchases, management identified that their private equity backers and early insiders held nearly 50% of the float and eventually wanted liquidity. Management bypassed the public market entirely. They negotiated directly with those institutional holders to execute a massive $6 billion leveraged buyback. They effectively retired a huge portion of the company at rock-bottom valuations. Foroughi noted this singular move generated $50 to $60 B in retained value for remaining shareholders as the stock rebounded. While the rest of big tech hoards headcount, APP actively fired 40% of its workforce in recent years while growing revenue by nearly 100% YoY. The C-suite consists only of the CEO, CFO, CTO, and General Counsel. There is no CRO, no COO, and virtually no salesforce. They replaced standard enterprise bloat with LLMs. Over 80% of their codebase is now written by AI, multiplying the output of their highest-tier engineers up to 100x. The product nearly sells itself. Advertisers plug in, set a performance goal, and if the ROAS is positive, they scale spend infinitely. It turns advertisers into blind arbitrageurs. The TAM expansion is also clear. Now that the model has perfected gaming monetization, APP is unleashing Axon onto e-commerce and local SMBs. They don't need a massive sales team to do this. The AI matches the right intent with the right ad, pushing conversion rates up. The company literally has internal compensation triggers tied to a $1 T market cap. Given they have grown from under $4 B in 2022 to roughly ~$154 B in market cap today, betting against this lean, hyper-competent team does not make much sense.
