D-Line Agile Pad Get-off Drill - They utilize an agile bag drill to practice the defensive line's get-off. - The agile bag is placed right up against the drive leg of the D-Linemen. - The goal is to literally launch off the drive leg to gain ground and get over the agile bag. - The defensive lineman should get their drive leg up against the bag and go off on movement. - You want to see the player jump, leave the ground, and get full extension off that drive leg. - The player should gain ground with a 45-degree shin angle. - The technique involves closing space and gaining ground; the player should avoid being "choppy". - The drill can be a competitive race, or the players can simply focus on getting off. - One variation of the drill involves players racing, where the first one to touch the coach's hands wins, going off on movement. Mark Daigneault said something that should reshape how every defender thinks about the game: “The players are too talented and the teams are too good to let them have their way… What does the opponent want the game to look like — and how can we disrupt that?” That’s not just a quote. It’s a defensive philosophy. Too many defenders grow up thinking defense is about reacting — sliding laterally, staying in front, and seeing what will happen to them. But at the highest levels, the offense isn’t going to beat itself. If you allow great players to dictate where they go, when they go, and how they go, you’ve already lost the possession. What Daigneault is really describing is disruptive control. The idea that defense isn’t passive, but active. Rhythm is offense’s greatest weapon, and disruption is defense’s. The best defenders don’t wait to react to what the offense is doing. They decide what the offense is allowed to do. They determine the terms of engagement. That is one of the biggest mindset shifts for developing defenders.

It raises an interesting question: When is a perceived flaw actually a flaw? Before changing mechanics, shouldn't we first ask: What problem are we trying to solve? Different doesn't automatically mean better or worse. It gives us something to investigate. What's your process before deciding a movement needs to change?

Optimizing ground reaction forces in the golf swing isn’t just about HOW HARD a golfer pushes against the ground, but HOW they push (timing and direction). One of the key kinetic variables we consider in a force analysis is called anterior-posterior force (or heel-toe force). Think of a golfer pushing frictionally against the ground, towards the target line with their lead leg and away from the target line with their trail leg. AP force is not only a meaningful contributor to clubhead speed, it also has a strong relationship to early extension. In order to prevent the pelvis from moving closer to the target line on the downswing, the lead leg needs to push considerably harder than the trail leg to drive the hip back (we often see over 2X AP force on the lead side vs the trail side in elite ball-strikers). As Newton outlines in his 3rd law, “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.” In the case of this PGA TOUR player, the trail leg was pushing equal to the lead leg, resulting in him early extending.

There are so many variables to what is best for the kid and the program, but every case should be looked at individually. Some players would benefit from staying down and having. A ton of responsibility, while others need the daily practice reps over the game reps. Ultimately the goal is that the kid is at their best in the future years to help the program be their best.

Sam Altman is right. The rate of technological progress beyond 2035 is indescribable. We’re leaving the realm of “human-scale change” and entering exponential time, where AI can solve tasks stretching into centuries, then millennia, then millions of years. Trying to imagine 2045 or 2050 with today’s mental models is like a caveman trying to picture the internet. The real question isn’t what AI will achieve, it’s whether humanity can adapt fast enough to a future where the unimaginable becomes routine.

There are many people in South Africa and in the USA who are working hard to tell the world that those of us who are concerned about the future of South Africa are exaggerating, or that we are busy with some dark agenda. Our greatest task is to gather support for solutions. But to have the conversation about solutions it is important that there is certainty about what exactly the problem is that needs to be solved. As far as Lex Libertas is concerned, the crisis can be summarized under three headings: 1. A destructive policy framework; 2. Disintegration of the state; and 3. The persecution of minorities. This is why the White Cross project is so important. We must give the world credible information about exactly what is happening in South Africa.
