I hate to say this, but... Bernie Sanders is RIGHT. Okay, half right. Half INCREDIBLY WRONG. His 'American A.I. Sovereign Wealth Fund Act' would tax major AI companies 50% of their stock. So the government would OWN half these companies because they were built using YOUR data. This is what Bernie gets right: These companies DID use your data to make these AIs. We shouldn't just let them have that for free, whenever they want it. But I don’t trust the government or these AI companies. So, why would I want them in bed together with my data?! It’s MY property. Pay ME for it. Let ME decide what to do with it. Not some collective government board.

Jolly: Byron Donalds’ real plan to bring down property taxes is to devalue your house by building a hyperscale data center next door to you. Byron Donalds is doing something that Donald Trump is doing and every other conflicted politician is doing who’s on all sides of this issue now. So big tech wants to come in and bring in the hyperscale data centers. Politicians like Byron Donalds have said, “Yeah, come on in. Build on our pristine lands. Give me the money in my campaign account, and I’ll let you do it.” Voters said, “Whoa, whoa, whoa. We don’t want hyperscale data centers.” And so now the position of the White House and Byron Donalds has pivoted to the following: “Ratepayer protection.” Ratepayer protection is what they’re saying to make it look like they’re pushing back. Now, understand what that means. That means that big tech and utilities have to pay their own way. They’re allowed to plunder as long as they pay for the plundering. Well, voters are saying, “We don’t want you to plunder.” And by the way, paying your own way should have been the baseline. That’s not a big reform. I take partial blame along with the rest of the industry. We did not communicate the difference between a data center built in Virginia 20 years ago and what we're building now. Most data centers today don't use more water than a golf course, and so that's a huge package of misinformation. Additionally, everybody has to bring their own power. The major benefit to that is we need more power in America. Not just data centers, we need overall power. In Utah for example, I have to bring my own power and build power not only for the data center, but to give back to the community to keep power costs down. That's a major benefit. That's gonna happen across the country.
