Search bar scroll transition from a recent project. Small tip: when an interaction animates 2 or more properties (like width and translate Y for this search bar), consider offsetting the timing and curves for each to get a more natural feel. Here, width starts narrowing first, and translate Y follows about 140 ms later. Which also helps the search bar move up without overlapping with the buttons.

They interrupt the user's context by pulling them into a separate layer just to confirm an action. On top of that, these modal typically lack a clear visual or spatial association with the element being deleted. The positioning feels arbitrary—detached from the target item—which can create hesitation or uncertainty for the user. To solve these issues, I designed a contextual delete confirmation that appears directly beneath the target element. Customers can enter the unique tax or business info they need, see what they paid in localized currency along with any discounts, and download a PDF. Thankfully Stripe makes this all fairly easy. It's something only a fraction of users see, but I think great design is sometimes about facilitating all of the edge cases to keep accounting and tax departments happy worldwide!$

A childless life is one of the saddest lives a person can live. It’s sad bc you miss out on one of the greatest forms of happiness a human can ever experience. This is the kind of joy that doesn’t come from $, status, or freedom. Rather, this pure joy comes from loving someone more than yourself. And also there’s a deeper thing of not having kids. This is the kind of happiness, which imo is the highest level of happiness a human can feel, that only exists when you have kids. Being human is awesome. Make more beautiful humans. Have kids. You will never feel ready, and I promise, you won’t regret it.
