Devastating. This is a loop over the past ~42 hours, beginning on Thursday, July 3rd, around 4pm, through now. {Tropical remnants, combined with a retrograding upper low (TUTT) out of the Gulf of Mexico and a shortwave trough, all supported this deadly flooding event through daily convection in this... show more

We drove down from DFW on Thursday around noon, staying on Lake Travis in Point Venture, there’s been a solid 45mins-1 hour of no rain, it’s unbelievable. Lake is up 11 ft since we got here, 10 of those in the last 9 hours

That is insane. That level of lake rise.

I've videos that I captured driving over 281 and Guadalupe at 8am this morning

This is the most insane thing I’ve seen. No one can prepare for that level of rain that fast. Thank you for sharing. Yes there were warnings, but there wasn’t a “this is going to be a once in a 1000 year flood.” They didn’t have a chance.

Thank you so much Collin!

Looks similar to Harvey

Yep I am in the middle of it.

This happens every time a tropical systems moves inland from the Gulf.., and then just sits on us. Very tragic situation.

Talk about standing under a waterfall. WOW. Then there's the flow of water.

TEXAS FLOOD TRAGEDY: One of those missing was 8 year old Sarah Marsh from Mountain Brook, a student at Cherokee Bend Elementary. It is confirmed that she lost her life in this flash flood. Please join me in praying for her family. From the Marsh family: “Our family is completely devastated by the loss of Sarah and her dear friends at Camp Mystic. This is a tragedy that no parent can prepare for and it will never be right this side of Heaven. While we are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received, we request privacy as we navigate the unimaginable steps ahead. We continue to keep the fellow campers, staff, and families in our prayers - for their rescue and return home. The Marsh Family”

Both warnings posted by NWS were clear cut and bold about this being life threatening, and location, even mentioning "campers" and "Kerrville". The flash flood emergency issued at 5:34 am on July 4th. "AUTOMATED RAIN GAUGES A LARGE AND DEADLY WAVE IS MOVING DOWN THE GUADALUPE RIVER". The first warning was issued at 1:14 am. There were already 5 warnings/advisories issued by NWS by 2 am. Kerr County and the surrounding regions were put under a flood watch on July 3rd. I don't feel natural disaster needs blamed on anyone, but as someone who watched these warnings being issued. The NWS couldn't have done better in this one.

WATCH: With a drizzle falling on Camp Mystic, the flood-ravaged Christian summer camp on the Guadalupe River in Texas, a father navigates the debris in search of his eight-year-old daughter. "My daughter was here," he says, examining a stone-walled cabin with shattered windows, eventually finding a towel with her name, a bracelet and a family photo. She is among 27 girls who have yet to be found after powerful waves of water rushed through the riverside camp in the pre-dawn hours after torrential rainfall. | Gianrigo MARLETTA / AFPTV / AFP #GuadalupeRiver #Texas #DailyTribune

This video of the Guadalupe was shot in Kerrville, Tx from the Center Bridge. Watch how fast these flood waters were traveling & washing everything in front of it out. It goes from low & barley flowing to over the top of the bridge in around 35 minutes. I sped the video up to make it shorter. God Bless all those affected by this disaster.
