According to how it is written the answer is 90. 40/0.5=80+10=90 But it is written incorrectly if you listen to the video he is telling her that 30, 35 and 45 are all too high which leads me to think the word question was supposed to create the equation 40 / 20 =2 + 10 = 12

If you’re dividing 40 by half which would be 20. Then divide 20 into 40 and you have 2 then add 10=12.

I guess if he said divide IN half then it would be 20 plus 10. But he said BY half and half as a number is 0.5 and that number goes into 40 eighty times bc it’s half of 1. Nice riddle. Teaches your mind to pay close attention

It appears to be as if they have to get an understanding on exactly what the equation is coming out of the way he worked at the question because everybody math is correct. What the problem comes in is it when he say divide 40 by half what does that mean when he say divide 40 by half I just looked at it like if they say what’s 12÷6 it seems like the highest number is always first so 40 divided by it would be a lower number so I’ll take half in that case and make it 20 and 40÷20 is two +10 is 12 if that’s what the wording problem meant now that’s where the riddle come in it not

He does not say divide 40 by, "Half of 40". He says half. Meaning you would divided by two. Her answer was correct… This is just another case of Gen Z math trying to catch older people just making themselves look stupid. You don't get to define the rules of math...

Any number cut in half is gonna be two of the same number meaning 40 cut and half will be 20 and 20 goes into 20 goes into 40 2×100 cutting in half would be 50 and 50 goes into 100 two times so divine 40 by half no matter if you even know the answer for real, you know it gotta be too. It takes 2 half’s to make one hole. So basically he’s telling you to add 10 to 2 which is 12
