What do you get when you divide 50 by half, and add 20? 🤔

Again, more of an English problem than math. Saying “divide something by half” can easily be interpreted as “divide something in half.” Had he said “divide by A half” it would be clearer. So she is right and he is at fault for not being able to properly phrase a question.

I HATE AND DESPISE MATH, so I asked Grok this question. I have a calculator for a reason people! 🤬 If you divide 50 by half and add 20, what do you have? Answer If you divide 50 by half, you get: 500.5=100 Then, if you add 20 to that result: 100+20=120 So, you would have 120.

Cheater!!

If by half means 0.5, the answer is 120. If by half means 25, the answer is 22. If you just mean 25 as half of 50, the answer is 45.

It’s grammatically incorrect either way Divide 50 “in” half and add 20 (50/2)+20=45 Divide by “a” half and add 20 (50/.5)+20=120

If I've done my math right, I have 3 apples left to give to my alien abductors, right? Or maybe just 120, but that's boring
