Don't cry, Baba. 😔💔 Hours before his execution, Alireza Raeisi was allowed one final phone call from Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. His father was crying on the line. So Alireza, with hours left to live, tried to comfort the man who raised him. "What can I do, Baba. They...

#WATCH | Delhi | Surender Mattoo, the father of Sarthak Mattoo, who lost his life after being allegedly rammed into by a Thar, says, "On the morning of the 25th, he was heading from his home in Gurgaon to Noida for work. He works for an event management company in Gurgaon. He must have left home around 6.30 or 6.40 AM. I don't know the exact time. He was on his bike and wearing a helmet. We later learned he was going to Noida for office work. The incident occurred near the Rajokri flyover. A Thar came up from behind and hit my son. After the collision, the vehicle ran over him and left him lying on the road. They just left him there. We received a call from one of Sarthak’s colleagues. A kind passerby had witnessed the accident. He even sent the location where he saw the Thar. It had a Karnataka registration number. This kind person saw Sarthak lying there, picked up his phone, and saw that the last call was from Sarthak’s office, so he called the colleague. He then called the PCR. We received the call from the office colleague around 7.30 or 7.45 AM, informing us that Sarthak had met with an accident. By the time we reached the Spinal Injuries Hospital, he was gone. They left my son lying on the road. The least they could have done was take him to the hospital. We learned there were two people in the vehicle... I appeal to all of you, please. I want justice... He was wearing a helmet. Look how sturdy it is, look at the scratches on it. I cannot bring myself to show you the condition of his clothes; it is too painful for me to bear. His mother is inside, shattered and lifeless with grief... I want to appeal to the Commissioner, Rekha Gupta, Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Modi. Sir, please help us. Where can common people like us go? There is no one to listen to us. Nobody understands, sir. We have nowhere else to turn. We are taxpayers. Commissioner, sir, your police personnel sent us to Safdarjung Hospital for a blood test after a delay of 50 hours. After 50 hours, Commissioner, sir, what traces of alcohol could be found in that blood? Please, I want justice for my son, my only son. It is his birthday today. He would have turned 34 today... I request you, with folded hands... Arrest my son's killers. Have them hanged. They should be put behind bars. They are killers. This was not merely a collision or an accident. It was a hit-and-run, a deliberate act of killing a young man under the wheels of a Thar bearing a Karnataka registration number. I simply request that you ensure I get justice."

PALESTINE’S🇵🇸 MANDELA: Marwan Barghouti’s son details EXTRAORDINARY efforts of his father to provide university-level education to Palestinian prisoners, despite torture and solitary confinement ‘The Palestinian detainees said that while my father was recovering, barely recovered from torture, what he did is that he started to teach those prisoners through the window, talking to them, giving them classes from six to eight hours in political science, in history, in Israeli studies, and so on. Because you need to know something about my father, in Hadarim prison, where he stayed for 18 years out of the 23 years, he started what we call the Light Academy. He sent his lawyer to the head of Jerusalem University and convinced him to give him the ability to give official degrees through sneaking the grades of the detainees while he is teaching them. And he was a very hard teacher. Seven days a week. He doesn’t take breaks. Eight hours a day. He has a PhD in political science, so he’s eligible to teach. And he used to teach in Jerusalem University. He’s graduated more than 450 Palestinian detainees with bachelor’s degrees, more than 200 with master’s degrees in Israeli studies. He is, of course, fluent in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. And that’s what he continued, despite all that torture, to try and teach them as good as he can. And they said that he was the one who is encouraging them, who’s lifting their spirit and so on. And I want to recall one of my father’s favourite quotes when I say “our chains will be broken before we are.” So I have no doubt that mentally he’s the strongest person I’ve ever known in my life. But at the same time, I’m his son and I am concerned for his life, because it’s not crazy to think that the Israeli government would harm him.’ -Arab Barghouti on the latest episode of Going Underground FULL INTERVIEW BELOW IN THE REPLIES👇

I haven’t translated the words of the marriage ceremony. In Iran, the only marriage the state recognises is an Islamic one, and I hate that this is forced on us. But please read why these two people got married tonight. Alireza is 24, Tonight, he married Mahshad Keshani, the woman he loves, hoping they might be allowed to see each other one last time before he is executed. That was his last request. To see her💔 When they came to arrest him at home, several men held him down and shot him four times in the legs. They arrested his teenage sister, his brother and his mum. They wrecked everything in the house, including the things his sister had been saving for her wedding. After an operation to remove the bullets, he was sent straight back to prison to be tortured into confessing. They kept his mum in the next room so she would know what they were doing to him. When he wouldn’t confess, they tortured her in front of him. His mum now faces five years in prison. He has already been taken to the gallows once. He suffered a stroke. He watched someone he loved dearly being executed. I can’t stop thinking about the two of them getting married tonight. Whether they were even allowed to hear each other’s voices. What she could possibly say to him if that visit is allowed. How you let go of someone’s hand when you know what they’re going to do to him. He’s 24, He should be worrying about paying the rent and how they’ll afford a wedding. His mum should be fussing over them. They should have time. Instead, they’ve got married in the hope that someone will let them say goodbye. I’m so fucking angry that this is what they’ve done to people in my country. Even a moment with the person you love has to be begged for. #AlirezaSepahi
