.Doug Burgum keeps SHUTTING DOWN climate doomers: Angus King objects to him using the word "intermittent" for wind/solar and "baseload" for coal/gas. Burgum educates the Maine senator: "It's not for any political reasons that I distinguish [them]. It's just because of physics... The intermittent, if you want to call... show more

King goes on with some hopium about "innovation" fixing the issues with wind/solar energy storage, but Burgum brings a reality check: "Having been in tech for 30 years, batteries get better at about 2% a year. And that's what it's been for 30 or 40 years, and there's no breakthrough that's coming. Yes, it's improving, but it's not like the microchip which doubles in power [every two years]."

@DougBurgum It’s alarming how uninformed our elected officials in Washington are about the actual science and reality of energy production & storage and just about everything else!

@DougBurgum I was extremely impressed with Governor Burgum, he is definitely the man for the job and knew exactly what was talking about. Extremely educated, well spoken and was well informed about every subject.

@DougBurgum Maine has been cursed with one of the lowest IQ Senators ever. And, Burgum just schooled him. Poor Angus.

@DougBurgum Wind and solar are, in fact, intermittent. Any energy derived from wind and solar must be stored somewhere. And that place is in batteries Lithium-ion battery manufacturing pollutes through the extraction of raw materials, the manufacturing process, and the disposal of batteries

@DougBurgum Angus King is a yuppie-farmer fashion clown with no real depth

@DougBurgum I worked at a power plant that had a 5MW solar field. Any person, who would watch as the output of that field varied instantly from 5to0to5to3to0to5 MW due to variable cloud cover, and try to not call it "intermittent" would meet the technical defnitioni of insane. Ds are insane.

@DougBurgum Doug should hire Billy Bob Thorton

@DougBurgum Wait wait wait! You mean to imply the sun shine is intermittent? Lawdy! 🤣

@DougBurgum Yes, Senator King. Solar and Wind energy are intermittent because the wind and sun don't shine and blow 24/7 on 365 days per year. Clown 🤡
