After recently completing sea trials, two Turkish built OPV-76 class offshore patrol vessels from DEARSAN Shipyards are set to join the Nigerian Navy fleet, boosting maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea. The procurement process began in August 2021 following approval former President Muhammadu Buhari. Construction commenced with a keel laying ceremony on September 16, 2022. P203, the lead vessel of the class was launched on October 26, 2023, with the second unit, P204, following on April 19, 2024.

Talks of India trying to separate Sindh from Pakistan have resurfaced, creating renewed concern in the region. Following a recent missile test, India’s Defense Minister claimed that Sindh was once part of India and suggested it could become part of India again in the future, adding that borders keep changing. Reports indicate that after failures in the air, India is now considering provocations via the sea, assuming it could pressure Pakistan on the maritime front. However, the Pakistan Navy sent a strong message that its silence should not be mistaken for weakness by successfully testing an indigenously developed anti-ship ballistic missile, making it clear that Pakistan’s maritime security is firmly in capable hands. The commissioning ceremony of the second Pakistan Navy MILGEM class ship, PNS KHAIBAR, was held at Istanbul Naval Shipyard in Türkiye. The reason we don’t know is because Democrats blocked the investigation. This is a country with nuclear weapons that is openly calling for the destruction of Israel and, of course, has subjected India to so much of that support for terrorism and aggression in the past."
