PG&E and Tesla have just announced that the Cybertruck, Tesla Powershare Gateway and Tesla Universal Wall Connector have all been approved for participation in PG&E's residential Vehicle‑to‑Everything (V2X) program, marking a major milestone for bidirectional EV integration in California. This marks the first AC vehicle-to-grid application approved for customers in California, enabling vehicles to connect using much simpler equipment rather than specialized DC infrastructure. PG&E customers with Cybertrucks will now be able to use their vehicle to power their home in an outage and earn money by selling power back to the electric grid during grid events. "Electric vehicles can do more than move people—they can help power homes and support the grid," said Jason Glickman, Executive VP of Strategy and Growth, PG&E. "By welcoming Tesla into our residential V2X program, we're expanding customer choice while making California's grid more flexible, resilient, and affordable. Unfortunately, Democrats have a supermajority in the Maryland General Assembly. Their acquiescence to radical environmentalism and organizations such as the Sierra Club will cause energy prices to explode next month. This isn't a partisan talking point, and their letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is simply performative and shifts blame as per usual. Over the years, Maryland has passed legislation such as the Climate Solutions Act of 2022 and participated in superfluous Green Energy Initiatives such as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) at the expense of ratepayers. These actions pose a unique threat to our grid reliability that other PJM states are not exposed to. Marylanders are exposed to this unique threat and face 73% higher capacity fees because we have a higher rate of power plants going offline. FERC has already made corrections to PJM's Market Capacity Auction. Therefore, state lawmakers are to meet PJM halfway and now provide pathways to hold our weight in the regional electric grid. Solutions to Address Our Energy Crisis: ~Repeal the Climate Solutions Act of 2022 ~End Our Participation in RGGI ~Offer financial incentives to power plants. ~Reduce bureaucratic hurdles for power plants to come online. ~Thoroughly study the energy impact of data centers and find optimization mechanisms to lower energy use. This cannot be done without ousting the Green Energy Zealots who are in the General Assembly and are completely acquiescent to the Sierra Club. It is time to vote them out of office, pass legislation to address our energy crisis, and bring down the cost for ratepayers.
