Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins: $700M for Regenerative Agriculture “Today is about the next step in making America healthy again… and that is talking about regenerative agriculture.” “Regenerative agriculture is a conservation management approach that emphasizes natural resources through improved soil health, water management, and natural vitality for the productivity and prosperity of American agriculture and all of our communities.” “Today we are launching a new farmer first regenerative agriculture pilot program, which will invest $700 million specifically to support regenerative agriculture.” “Protecting and improving the health of our soil is critical not only for the future viability of farmland, but to the future success of American farmers. In order to continue to be the most productive and most efficient growers in the world, we must protect our top soil, from unnecessary erosion and boost the microbiome of the soil.” “Today's announcement encourages these priorities while supporting farmers to transition to regenerative agriculture if they so choose. This is a farmer's first pilot program and the first of its kind.” “This initiative puts American farmers first as part of the solution to make America healthy again, and by supporting and by supporting access to American grown whole foods that are critical to addressing the chronic disease crisis nationwide.” “This new pilot is about results that last. Group Farming & Climate-Resilient Agriculture: The Future of Maharashtra! 🌱 Delighted to be a part of 'Satyamev Jayate Farmer Cup Awards 2024 Ceremony' in Balewadi, Pune with Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, thousands of farmers & champions across Maharashtra and team Paani Foundation. For many years, I have been closely observing the incredible initiatives of Paani Foundation. Aamir Khan, known for his perfectionism, initially started Paani Foundation in just 3 talukas, then expanded to 30, then 75, and today, the announcement for its implementation across the entire Maharashtra fills me with immense happiness and pride. Since 2015, Maharashtra has witnessed a Water Janandolan (people’s movement) through the Jalyukt Shivar initiative. During this, Aamir Khan and the Paani Foundation team stepped forward and volunteered. The initial planning and structures for various villages were developed, enabling 20,000 villages across Maharashtra to become self-reliant in tackling water scarcity. This Farmer Cup as the next step has greatly supported the group farming movement. Today, various farmer groups are actively working, and a new policy for group farming will be introduced. Additionally, the necessary assistance and support required for these groups will be provided. The Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjeevani Yojana, launched in collaboration with the World Bank, focuses on climate-resilient agriculture. The first phase, with an investment of ₹4,000 crore, was highly impactful, prompting the World Bank to approve ₹6,000 crore for the second phase. This phase has significantly improved and transformed farming practices. Additionally, villages that were initially not part of the scheme are now requesting inclusion, proving that this initiative has been immensely beneficial for farmers. The goal is to attract investment in farming, as capital expenditure will empower farmers and enhance their capabilities. Group farming will further benefit them by reducing costs and increasing production. Additionally, drip irrigation will be provided to farmers who request it, ensuring sustainable and efficient water use. Minister Manikrao Kokate, Founder of Bhartiya Jain Sangathan Shantilal ji Mutha, and other dignitaries were present too. The Tiranga, Our Pride, Our Promise to Viksit Bharat There are moments when the heart speaks louder than words, our Independence Day is one such moment. Hoisted the flag on the occasion of Indian Independence Day at Varsha, Mantralay and attended the flag hoisting at the Bombay High Court at the hands of Hon Acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Ravindra V. Ghuge ji. As the Tiranga rose, every flutter carried the courage of our freedom fighters and the sacrifices of the brave soldiers who stand guard at our borders, protecting India’s sovereignty and keeping our national flag flying with pride. To stand beneath this sacred flag is to feel both immense pride and a profound responsibility to honour the freedom entrusted to us and to dedicate every effort towards building a stronger, prosperous and Viksit Bharat. India’s journey since Independence stands as a remarkable testament to the nation’s resilience, ambition and collective endeavour. The past 12 years under the visionary leadership of our Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji have marked a defining phase in India’s journey. From becoming the world’s 4th largest economy to lifting more than 25 crore people out of poverty, India is moving forward with renewed confidence, expanding opportunity and a stronger foundation for inclusive prosperity. The journey towards Viksit Bharat is ultimately about inclusive progress, empowering every individual, strengthening every community and creating opportunities for every aspiration. Maharashtra has a foremost role in this national mission. As India’s largest state economy and its growth engine, the focus remains firmly on inclusive development, farmer prosperity, women’s empowerment, youth opportunities and economic expansion. Through the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026', 56 lakh farmers have received loan-waiver benefits, alongside support through free agricultural electricity, irrigation, river-linking and AI-driven initiatives for better water and resource management. Maharashtra has also taken a historic step towards recognising the contribution of women in agriculture through the Maharashtra Women Farmers Empowerment Act, providing women farmers with independent legal recognition and strengthening their rightful place in the agricultural ecosystem. From EduCity and future-ready education for our youth to leading the country in FDI, manufacturing, exports and startups, Maharashtra is creating the capabilities that will power India’s next phase of growth. As the Tiranga rises, so does the resolve to build a Viksit Bharat, with Maharashtra leading from the front, empowering every citizen and shaping a future worthy of the sacrifices that gave us our freedom.
