Empowering Our Soil, Securing Our Future: A Long-Term Vision for Maharashtra’s Farmers Deeply grateful to have been felicitated by the BJP Kisan Morcha, Maharashtra Pradesh for announcing the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana' in Mumbai today. This scheme provides a loan waiver of up to ₹2,00,000 along with an incentive of ₹50,000 to farmers who repaid their loans regularly. Also more than 12 lakh farmers are set to receive the benefit post revision in the criteria of 2019 loan waiver scheme. However, a loan waiver is not the final solution, nor does it make farmers truly prosperous. We must make agriculture profitable by adopting new technologies, which requires significant investment. Under the leadership of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, the Central Government and the State Government together are empowering the agricultural sector through various schemes, robust financial investments, and initiatives like Jalyukt Shivar, Magel Tyala Shet tale and many more. The government has started daytime power supply and decided to provide 12 hours of free daytime electricity to all farmers till end of this year. On this occasion, also announced that electricity bills for farmers with pumps up to 7.5 HP, worth ₹48,000 crore, will be waived by the government. To compete in the global market, we need to reduce production costs and increase productivity. Integrating AI in agriculture, focusing on animal husbandry, and driving a push for natural farming will help us in the process. Schemes such as the Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Yojana (PoCRA), SMART, and MAGNET are all designed to transform the agricultural economy, make it sustainable, and support our farmers. Additionally, river-linking projects are underway for drought-prone areas so that future generations do not have to face these hardships. Our focus is always on the long-term vision for this sector to change the lives of farmers for the better. Farmers are the backbone of Maharashtra’s growth story, playing a pivotal role in strengthening the state’s economy. Revolutionising Agriculture: Empowering Farmers with Sustainable and Affordable Solar Energy!🌱 Inaugurated 2 projects with a total capacity of 6 MW Projects under the ‘Mukhyamantri Saur Krishi Vahini Yojana 2.0’ for the farmers including : ✅4 MW capacity project at Umbarda Bazaar, Washim ✅2 MW capacity project at Narangwadi, Dharashiv Also, had a nice interaction with farmers through video conference regarding this initiative, which helps go towards affordable and uninterrupted daytime electricity powered by solar energy, revolutionizing agriculture. The 16,000 MW target under this yojana will be operational by June 2026, supplying daytime electricity to 32,93,592 agricultural consumers across 8,428 channels via 2,251 substations. Previously if the Govt gave free electricity to farmers Govt borne the cost of ₹7 per unit. But now with this green energy milestone, the cost will be reduced to ₹3 per unit, significantly easing the financial burden on the Govt while ensuring access to electricity throughout the day to farmers. A Sustainable Cow-Based Economy for Farmer Prosperity Attended the closing ceremony of 'Rajyamata Gomata Samvad Yatra 2026' in Nagpur today. The Government has taken several policy decisions to strengthen goshalas under the Maharashtra Goseva Aayog initiative, conserve indigenous cattle and promote a self-sustaining cattle welfare ecosystem. For our ancestors, gold and silver were not the true symbols of prosperity; rather, a prosperous and self-reliant agricultural civilisation was their true glory, and at the center of this entire system was our beloved Gomata. In our culture, Gomata has always been respected as a mother. Just as a mother continues to nurture and guide her family throughout life, the cow continues to serve society in countless ways. Conserving Gomata is essential for preserving our agricultural heritage, promoting natural farming and ensuring safe, chemical-free food for future generations. Building a resilient cow-based economy will help empower farmers and increase crop production. Group Farming & Climate-Resilient Agriculture: The Future of Maharashtra! 🌱 Delighted to be a part of 'Satyamev Jayate Farmer Cup Awards 2024 Ceremony' in Balewadi, Pune with Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, thousands of farmers & champions across Maharashtra and team Paani Foundation. For many years, I have been closely observing the incredible initiatives of Paani Foundation. Aamir Khan, known for his perfectionism, initially started Paani Foundation in just 3 talukas, then expanded to 30, then 75, and today, the announcement for its implementation across the entire Maharashtra fills me with immense happiness and pride. Since 2015, Maharashtra has witnessed a Water Janandolan (people’s movement) through the Jalyukt Shivar initiative. During this, Aamir Khan and the Paani Foundation team stepped forward and volunteered. The initial planning and structures for various villages were developed, enabling 20,000 villages across Maharashtra to become self-reliant in tackling water scarcity. This Farmer Cup as the next step has greatly supported the group farming movement. Today, various farmer groups are actively working, and a new policy for group farming will be introduced. Additionally, the necessary assistance and support required for these groups will be provided. The Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjeevani Yojana, launched in collaboration with the World Bank, focuses on climate-resilient agriculture. The first phase, with an investment of ₹4,000 crore, was highly impactful, prompting the World Bank to approve ₹6,000 crore for the second phase. This phase has significantly improved and transformed farming practices. Additionally, villages that were initially not part of the scheme are now requesting inclusion, proving that this initiative has been immensely beneficial for farmers. The goal is to attract investment in farming, as capital expenditure will empower farmers and enhance their capabilities. Group farming will further benefit them by reducing costs and increasing production. Additionally, drip irrigation will be provided to farmers who request it, ensuring sustainable and efficient water use. SARTHI: Empowering Youth, Transforming Futures Felicitated the successful students and parents for their achievements in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) and other programmes, organised by Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI), Pune, today. Guided by the ideals of our greatest King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we are dedicated to providing equal opportunities to all communities. The government of Maharashtra stands strong in support of the economically and educationally disadvantaged sections of the Maratha community. The profound vision of our great king, Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, continues to illuminate the path of social justice. Walking on this path, 'SARTHI' continues to play a transformative role in the upliftment of the Maratha community through education, training and employment opportunities. Established in 2018 with the vision of increasing the participation of the Maratha community in competitive examinations and skill development, SARTHI has emerged as a transformative platform for youth empowerment. Through its various programmes, over 2,00,000 students have been trained for UPSC, MPSC, banking and other competitive examinations. Ensuring equal opportunities for all, these initiatives are empowering communities through skill development and accelerating inclusive progress. To further accelerate employment generation, the revival of Annasaheb Patil Arthik Magas Vikas Mahamandal and the implementation of interest-free loan schemes have helped nurture lakhs of entrepreneurs, strengthening the foundation of inclusive growth and economic empowerment. The remarkable success of UPSC and MPSC aspirants through SARTHI stands as a testament to this impactful initiative, alongside many students securing meaningful employment through skill development. Infrastructure, Investment, and Water Conservation – Maharashtra on the Rise!✨ It was an overwhelming moment to be at 'TiEcon Mumbai 2025: India’s Leading Entrepreneurial Leadership Summit' in Mumbai, today. Humbled to receive the 'TiE Mumbai Hall of Fame' award at the hands of the legendary, Infosys founder Narayana Murthy ji. This award is a proud recognition of the governance model we embarked on in 2014 under the visionary leadership of our Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji. Receiving this award today is not just an honour but a realization that our efforts are making a real difference and that we are on the right path together. All these transformative infrastructure projects in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai and MMR—be it the Coastal Road, Atal Setu, Metro Network, or the Vadhavan Project—have become a reality because of our governance, which turned aspirations into achievements. Every project has been backed by thorough study and dedicated efforts, and under the visionary leadership of Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji, we have worked relentlessly to make them happen. Today, these ongoing projects are set to boost the State’s growth significantly. The 4th Mumbai will be created in the area of Vadhavan which will emerge as a dynamic new city, driving massive GDP growth and creating a thriving business ecosystem. In just 5 years, we planned and initiated 372 Km of metro, out of which 150 Km is now delivered. With each passing year, we will continue expanding and delivering more, ensuring a stronger and more connected Maharashtra. Being recognized for water conservation is a significant achievement. In 2014, 14 schemes were executed by 6 different departments. We streamlined them into one scheme, one leader, and one department, launching the ambitious 'Jalyukt Shivar' initiative. Our goal was to make 25,000 villages drought-free, and the Marathwada region saw a significant rise in water levels. In the 2020 Government of India's Groundwater Report, Maharashtra was the only state to show improvement compared to others. This award also recognizes investments, and once again, Maharashtra has become the top destination for FDI. This year, we have broken all previous records—surpassing our own ₹31,000 crore investment milestone from 2016-17. In just 9 months, we have secured ₹1.39 lakh crore in investments, with 50% of the country's FDI flowing into Maharashtra. Today, Maharashtra stands as the new startup capital of India. We are dedicated to reviving Mumbai’s glory and propelling Maharashtra to unmatched greatness!
