Yesterday and today, we had very good meetings with Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof Rob Jetten. We spoke in Berlin together with other leaders, and today our discussions were also very substantive. I am grateful to the Netherlands for all the defense and political support Ukraine has received since the beginning of this invasion. I would like to express special gratitude for the recent defense package – €700 million for defense. Thank you. We appreciate your responsible approach to the current moment in global politics, which is reflected in your support for the PURL initiative, enabling us to purchase American weapons. These are necessary items – first and foremost air defense missiles and other weapons that are not available in Europe and that we can only purchase at this time. We are also working toward joint defense production, in particular the production of modern drones in Ukraine and the Netherlands. Ukraine is defending its independence and the lives of our people, and therefore every step of support right now carries particular significance. I thank Dick Schoof and the Netherlands for their continued support of our people!

In light of these attacks, it is particularly important to bolster Ukraine’s air defense, and we are grateful to the United States of America and to all caring Americans for their support of Ukraine, which we have felt throughout all the years of this full-scale Russian aggression. During the meeting, we discussed cooperation with the U.S. Congress, diplomatic work to achieve a dignified peace, and the importance of active U.S. participation in the negotiation process. We are counting on an end to the pause in the negotiations and the reinvigoration of diplomacy. This is important for saving the lives of our people and restoring security in Europe.
