TOPIC #118: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO GCV AMBASSADORS AND SPECIAL ENVOYS Conclusion of the Pioneer’s Handbook ( updater version) 2025 marks an extraordinary and historic moment in our shared journey for Pi Network and Global GCV Movement. They finally "married " together. From this moment forward, we officially enter a new chapter that I proudly name: The GCV Economy Era With this milestone, the Pioneer’s Handbook reaches its conclusion. This is my 118th article. In Chinese culture, 118 symbolizes prosperity and good fortune—a perfect symbol for closing one historic chapter and opening another. These final words are dedicated to all pioneers, merchants, ambassadors, envoys, and warriors whose unity, discipline, and perseverance made the GCV dream a reality. --- 1. The Origin of GCV — A Seed Planted in China The GCV Movement began in China, nurtured by pioneers with vision, courage, and deep study. In February 2022, Mr. Rong Zhang Bao launched the Pi Network International Seminar, calling pioneers to study Pi deeply, understand its mission, and define its economic value. After months of collective research and surveys, Chinese pioneers established the foundational consensus value: $314,159. In May 2022, Mr. Bao Rong Zhang and I, together with Nigerian pioneer Mr. Woody, launched three international Twitter Space conferences. Mr. Woody's influence helped introduce GCV to tens of thousands of pioneers worldwide, marking the true beginning of GCV's international journey. I would like to acknowledge Mr. Rong Zhang Bao, former community leader in China, as the founder of GCV, Mr. Woody Lightyear, former community leader in Nigeria, as a key supporter of GCV at early stage Their contributions during the early stages of GCV in 2022 were essential. The early path, however, was not easy. GCV faced misunderstandings, attacks, misinformation, and division. My speeches were removed from groups. Leaders became confused or misled. Some pioneers, lacking education, turned toward black markets. At that point, I made a deliberate decision: I stepped back from global expansion and devoted one full year exclusively to the China community. During that year, Chinese merchants contributed nearly USD 10 million worth of products through GCV barter. However, because pioneers had no Pi available in their wallets, many transactions relied on contracts without Pi or fiat settlement. This created no usable GCV data, and eventually many merchants—unable to sustain operations—left the movement. From this experience, one truth became clear: > Sustainability is essential. Passion alone is not enough. We must be rational, prepared, and educated. To succeed, we must: Use partial Pi + partial fiat Build education before expansion Protect merchants as carefully as pioneers If pioneers only demand from merchants, the economy cannot survive. If merchants collapse, GCV collapses. This realization is why I began writing the Pioneer’s Handbook—to align pioneers and merchants under one sustainable economic vision. --- 2. Expanding Beyond Borders — The Global Rise of GCV By 2023, it became clear that China alone could not generate sufficient global GCV data. GCV had to rise worldwide. One by one, visionary leaders emerged: Ms. Lumari Ms. Nonny Mr. JoJo Mr. M. Rad Mr. Olivier Mr. Iyanda Mr. Patrick Mr. Jason …and many others. Strong movements followed across the Philippines, Indonesia, Africa, the Arab Region, Malaysia, Taiwan (China), Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey, India, Bangladesh, South Korea, and throughout Africa and the Middle East. Many pioneers who doubted GCV did so not out of malice—but from lack of study or misunderstanding of economic authority. Let it be clear: PCT manages technology Pioneers manage the economy GCV is our responsibility and our consensus authority Those who studied deeply developed 100% trust and confidence. --- 3. Deep Gratitude to the International GCV Leadership Although it is impossible to name everyone, the following leaders played defining roles in shaping global GCV success. International GCV Leadership • Ms. Lumari Industry Alliance Chair (Global), Global GCV CT Executive Director, Committee Chair, Global GCV Ambassador, Head of Philippines GCV Ambassadors The heart and engine of global operations. In the early hours of Saturday, 17th May 2025, the Chairman of the Lekki Estate Residents Association (Lekki Phase 1 Residents Association (LERA) ) alerted us to an incident involving the illegal dumping of refuse along Durosimi-Etti Street in Lekki Phase 1. A white Ford van with Abuja registration plates GWA 136E was caught in the act of indiscriminately discharging waste. The vehicle was traced to DONALD restaurant, a nightlife establishment located on Road 14 within the estate. The suspects were apprehended on the scene by LERA’s Chief Security Officer and taken into custody at the LERA Secretariat. It was reported that the individuals attempted to bribe the security team with ₦100,000—an offer that was firmly declined. Following the report, the Managing Director of LAWMA, Mr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, PhD deployed the Monitoring and Compliance team to the location. The team took custody of the suspects and immediately sealed the premises of DONALD restaurant for gross environmental violations, in breach of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017. This incident reflects a broader pattern of non-compliance among several commercial operators in Lekki Phase 1 who have failed to register with their assigned Private Sector Participant (PSP) operators. Many of these facilities have been implicated in repeated acts of illegal dumping, particularly during off-peak hours. LAWMA’s partnership with LERA continues to deliver tangible results in identifying and sanctioning environmental defaulters. The Authority commends the swift and principled response of the LERA Exco and their security team. The suspects will be prosecuted in accordance with the law. LAWMA remains resolute in its commitment to enforcing environmental regulations across Lagos and urges all residents and businesses to adhere strictly to proper waste management practices. A clean and livable city is everyone’s responsibility. #CleanerLagos

$VET, #VeFam. In this video, I demonstrate in less than 4:30 minutes how to create an AI agent on veworld(.)ai. Watch me build a Mr. Robot Monologue Writer agent. If you haven't seen Mr. Robot, I suggest you watch it! This is just early bird access. The options for tools and integrations and such are limited, but what exists is already working quite well. The process is easy peasy. The UI is simple, but effective. It asks you for... 1. Role & Purpose 2. Voice & Style 3. Behavior 4. Rules 5. Tags 6. Avatar image 7. Welcome text. 8. Test drive before publication. ... and that's about it. This free version lets you have at most 3 agents, I am told. This implies that there is also a paid version. I'm all for it, because it sounds to me like VeChain is ready to do real business! I am providing feedback to Jérôme Grillères in order to help improve VeChain's AI agent marketplace. I didn't have to set up anything. The web UI is all I needed! The agent is running on Claude Sonnet 3.7. I did not have to provide a Claude API key. We seem to be riding along on VeChain's. I hope there'll be a choice for more models, including ChatGPT, in the future. This is so user friendly, that I can easily imagine that this would take off in a big, big way. I'm definitely building on this, when it goes into production with full features. Even if my own AI agents aren't successful, then I'm sure others' will be. And that means the $VET / $VTHO / $B3TR flywheel is going to take off in a big, big way. I, for one, am here for it. (See the reply below for the listing of the AI agent I just created.)

The Lagos State Government has inaugurated a Special Task Force to combat indiscriminate waste dumping across the metropolis, particularly on roads, bus stops, garages, and lay-bys. As part of the initiative, members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) will work with government agencies as “waste police” to monitor and report environmental violations. Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi , emphasized that tackling environmental abuse requires collaboration between government and transport unions, warning that offenders will face sanctions. He also directed union leaders to ensure cleanliness in their garages and parks, discourage indiscriminate trading, and remove illegal structures that contribute to waste generation. Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Sam Egube, highlighted the critical role of transport workers in maintaining public order and security, urging them to report suspicious activities and support efforts to keep Lagos clean and safe. LAWMA Managing Director, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, PhD , noted that Lagos generates about 13,000 tonnes of waste daily and called on transport unions to help prevent waste disposal on roads, promote proper waste management, and stop street trading around bus stops and newly constructed roads. Stakeholder Sola Giwa assured the unions of government support in enforcing sanitation standards, removing illegal shanties, and maintaining clean transport facilities. In response, the transport unions pledged their commitment to partnering with the government in waste policing and environmental sanitation across Lagos. #AGreaterLagosRising

#bailu addresses fans' concerns and shares more about kai dao tu mi ! alright, alright! let me first introduce our drama series to everyone. as most of you already know, our show is adapted from yishu's novel kai dao tu mi (the last blossom). over the past few days during our script read-throughs and costume fitting tests, our production team has seen all the feedback and styling suggestions you've shared online. what i really want to tell you today is that in kai dao tu mi, as you know, yun na starts off as an 8th-grader. so, my current hairstyle is actually for yun na's college days! don't worry, don't be impatient! what i want to share is that when yun na officially enters society, she debuts with a super chic, iconic short hairstyle! because of our timeline, we can't really go for big wavy curls or anything like that. but that short hairstyle is going to absolutely blow you away! our styling shifts naturally as the character grows. so when you see photos coming out later, i hope you'll understand our vision! also, our story is set roughly between 1995 and 1999. so it's not modern-day per se, but rather has that nostalgic late-'90s guangdong vibe. having worked with director mu and our main cast these past few days, i can tell you everyone is genuinely amazing. you can rest assured! with our costume supervisor, mr. tian, and our screenwriter, mr. lu tian, we share one common goal: to create a truly great show. we're working hard to make this project something special and unique!

“Battle After Battle” wins Best Picture. Who else took home an Oscar? The 98th Academy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles. The top prize — Best Picture — went to “Battle After Battle.” Its director Paul Thomas Anderson also won Best Director. 🎭 Best Actor — Michael B. Jordan (“Sinners”) 🎭 Best Actress — Jessie Buckley (“Hamnet: The Story That Inspired Hamlet”) 🎭 Best Supporting Actor — Sean Penn (“Battle After Battle”) 🎭 Best Supporting Actress — Amy Madigan (“Weapons”) 🎬 Best Original Screenplay — “Sinners” 🎬 Best Adapted Screenplay — “Battle After Battle” 🌍 Best International Feature Film — “Sentimental Value” (Norway) 🎞 Best Documentary Feature — “Mr. Nobody Against Putin” 🎭 Best Costume, Makeup and Production Design — “Frankenstein” The biggest winner of the night was “Battle After Battle,” taking home six Oscars. Interestingly, one of the favorites in the acting categories this year was Timothée Chalamet (“Marty the Magnificent”), but the award ultimately went to Michael B. Jordan for “Sinners.” Just days before the ceremony, Chalamet found himself at the center of controversy over remarks about opera and ballet that may have cost him the Academy’s vote. “I don’t want to work in ballet, or opera, or any other industry that has to be artificially kept alive even if no one cares about it,” the actor said. Sean Penn, who won Best Supporting Actor for “Battle After Battle,” did not attend the ceremony. According to The New York Times, he traveled to Europe to visit Ukraine. It is Penn’s third Oscar, making him one of the most decorated actors.

Budd Boetticher's thoughts on Sergio Leone being criticised for ripping off his style & his meeting with Leone: "I think it’s a great compliment. We were going to France, where we were being honored. I hadn’t paid any attention to what they were doing, just what they were doing for me, which was great. And I said, “Oh, my God. Guess who the top judge is?” My wife said, “Who?” I said, “Sergio Leone!” She said, “So?” I said, “They wrote the same things about Sam Peckinpah – that he stole everything from me. He’s gonna hate my guts the way Sam did.” She didn’t think so, but I said, “I know these guys. If you see a short, fat little guy who looks like Sergio Leone, you tell me and we’ll get the hell out of there.” So we were walking up the steps to our hotel, and down came Leone. I was halfway up the steps, so there was nothing to do but face him. And he looked at me and said, “Buddy, darling, I stole everything from you!” [Laughs.] Of course he didn’t, not that I know of. You look at his pictures and then mine and I don’t know where they get that idea. I hope it’s because they’re all good! We became very close friends from that stairway meeting on. We had breakfast, lunch, and dinner together every day for five straight days. He said, “Are you gonna make 'A Horse for Mr. Barnum in Spain?'” I said yes, and he said, “I’d really love to produce it. If I produce and you direct, everyone in the world will see it.” I said, “Do me one favor, my dear friend—stay off the set.” He laughed because he knew what I thought of producers. I think he felt the same way." (Budd Boetticher's interview with Andy Rausch, Senses of Cinema, 1999) P.S: Remembering the great American filmmaker Budd Boetticher on his 110th birthday! Victor Davis Hanson: We Needed a New President, not ‘Comprehensive Immigration Reform’ Why did Joe Biden let 10-12 million illegal aliens into the U.S.? The Good News: We’ve gone from over 120,000 people a month coming across the border illegally in April 2024 to fewer than 10,000 in April 2025. The Bad News: The Left operates under a simple principle: “It is lawful to be unlawful if you're Joe Biden—according to the courts—but it is unlawful to be lawful if you're Donald Trump. And the result is that we've got these 10 to 12 million people. Are we going to have an immigration hearing for each one of them? Or are we just going to pick people", asks Victor Davis Hanson on today's edition of "Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words:" Introduction: Immigration Issue Overview Current State of Immigration Successes and Challenges at the Border Legal and Political Implications Case Study: Mr. Abrego Garcia Conclusion and Final Thoughts 👉Don’t miss out on Victor’s latest videos by subscribing to The Daily Signal today. 📊 Things I dislike and Like about Mikal Bridges — aka Mr. 5 First-Round Picks (Also a 2028 1st Pick Swap with BK) 🗒️ 5 firsts is the most ever for a non-All-Star and he makes the same $37M as Şengün — a homegrown All-Star. 🗒️ Mikal not the defender he once was. Last year he was last in On-Ball Screen Navigation. Here are his matchup results this season according to most points scored on him: 🍎 Josh Giddey — 21 PTS | 9:18 | 9-12 FG (75.0%) | 3-4 3PT (75.0%) | 0 To 🍎 Norman Powell — 18 PTS | 13:04 | 7-16 FG (43.8%) | 2-5 3PM | 0 To 🍎 Donovan Mitchell — 13 PTS | 5:25 | 5-9 FG (55.6%) | 0-2 3PM | 1 To 🍎 Matas Buzelis — 6 PTS | 6:24 | 2-4 FG (50.0%) | 2-2 3PT | 1 To 🍎 Anthony Edwards — 6 PTS | 4:39 | 2-4 FG (50.0%) | 2-3 3PT | 1 To 🍎 AJ Green — 6 PTS | 4:14 | 2-3 FG (66.7%) | 2-3 3PT | 1 To 📊 Defensive Profile: 🔵 D-FG%: 47.3% (bad for a perimeter defender — wings are expected to hold opponents closer to ~43–45%, anything near 47% means scorers are getting clean looks vs him) 🔵 Defensive Rating: 114.0 🔵 Usage Rate: 16% — 5 FRPs for a low-usage player is organizational malpractice (same usage tier as KCP 16.0%, Wendell Carter Jr 16.0%, rookie Egor Demin 16.4%, Hartenstein 16.5%, even Miles McBride has higher usage at 16.7%) 🧠 Shot Creation Issues: 🔵 3PM Assisted: 96.7% 🗑️ Unassisted 3s: 3.3% 🔵 FGM Assisted: 72.9% 🗑️ Unassisted FGM: 27.1% 🧠 3P% When He Dribbles: 📉 1 Dribble 33.3% 📉 2 Dribbles 0% 📉 3–6 Dribbles 33.3% 📉 7+ Dribbles 0% 📉 Pull-Up 3P% 28.6% 🪫 PPG: 16.2 (not worth 5 1st round picks) for context: 🍁 RJ Barrett 19.1 PPG 🔥 Jaime Jaquez JR. 17.1 PPG 🛎️ Quentin Grimes 16.8 PPG 🍀 Payton Pritchard 16.4 PPG ⚡️ Ajay Mitchell 16.3 PPG 📊 What I Do Like About Mikal: 🥷 2.0 STL 🧱 0.9 BLK 🥇 AST% 19.5% (career high) 🥇 AST/TO 5.36 (career high) 📈 FG% 48.6% 🎯 3P% 41.7% 📈 3P% on 0 Dribbles: 45.5% This isn’t enough production. He gives us almost no shot creation, and while he’s elite on corner 3s, we didn’t trade 5 firsts and a 2028 swap for a spot-up role player. The bare minimum expectation for Mikal Bridges should be All-Star production — not role-player numbers. #NewYorkForever #SNYK #NYKx #NYK #Knicks #NYC #MikalBridges

🚀 The Segment Anything Model (SAM) has been upgraded to SAM2, featuring an efficient image encoder for segmenting images and videos. But does SAM2 outperform SAM1 in medical image and video segmentation? We're thrilled to present our paper "Segment Anything in Medical Images and Videos: Benchmark and Deployment"! We comprehensively benchmark SAM2 across 11 medical image modalities and videos. 📄 Paper: 💻 Code: **Highlights:** 1. SAM2 doesn’t always outperform SAM1 in 2D medical images, but excels in video segmentation, making it more accurate and efficient for 3D images, such as CT and MR scans. 2. MedSAM still outperforms SAM2 on most 2D modalities, but SAM2 surpasses MedSAM for 3D image segmentation in a slice-by-slice approach. 3. Segmentation performance varies with model size; sometimes the smallest model outperforms larger ones. 4. Fine-tuning SAM2 significantly boosts its performance for medical image segmentation. While SAM2 may struggle with challenging objects that have unclear boundaries or low contrast, it excels in generating good initial segmentation masks for common medical images and videos. However, the official interface doesn’t support medical data formats and has limitations on video length. To address this, we've developed a 3D Slicer Plugin and Gradio API for efficient 3D medical image and video segmentation. We invite you to try them out and provide feedback! 🔧 Deployment: - 3D Slicer Plugin: - Gradio API: (Note: Due to GPU limitations, the online API is available for only 12 hours and may be slow. We highly recommend deploying the Gradio API with your own computing resources: A big shoutout to Jun Ma (JunMa) who recently joined our UHN AI hub (UHN AI Hub) as Machine Learning Lead, and kudos to all co-authors: Sumin Kim, Feifei Li, Mohammed Baharoon (Mohammed Baharoon), Reza Asakereh, and Hongwei Lyu! This is true teamwork! Looking forward to collaborating with the community to advance 3D medical image and video segmentation foundation models! On behalf of the Lagos State government, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lafarge Africa PLC for the collection of non-recyclable combustible waste round the state and landfill sites, a significant step towards achieving a zero waste future for Lagos State. Through this partnership, Lafarge Africa will collect and treat non-recyclable and combustible waste from companies and Lagos State dumpsites and divert it to its Ewekoro Plant for use as an alternative fuel for production. This landmark milestone will enable Lafarge Africa support The Lagos State Govt ’s vision of a cleaner Lagos in line with the Lagos Waste Management Authority’s ambitious zero waste to landfill objective. This new agreement reiterates the commitment of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration’s to continually reduce the quantum of waste that gets to landfills, ultimately leading to zero waste landfill sites. The state government is determined to continually pay special attention to wastes conversion in the state. The Lagos State Government in recent past had also signed MoU to help decommission existing landfill, MoU to convert waste to energy, MoU with a Dutch company to take off electronic waste. We are addressing the issues of waste frontally at the states; waste sorting is a culture and it is a culture that you must imbibe and build over time; separation of waste is here to stay. The MoU's benefits are wide-ranging, including the availability of reliable alternative fuel sources, cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, and alignment with ESG goals. Present at the MoU signing were the Chief Executive Officer, LAFARGE Africa PLC, Mr. Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, Special Adviser on Environment, Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu; Permanent Secretaries, Office of Environmental Services, Dr. Gaji Omobolaji and Office of Drainage Services, Engr. Mahamood Adegbite; GM LASPARK, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola;MD Water Corporation, Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani; GM LASWAMO, Engr. Adefemi Afolabi; Executive Director Operations, Lagos Water Corporation, Engr. Lanke Taiwo and other directors in the Ministry and from LAFARGE Africa.
