Beyond 110 km/h, the pull up to 150 km/h (highly not recommended) is definitely stronger in 1.5 turbocharged engines, where torque is around 250 Nm. The Elevate CVT is tailored for sedate driving but has enough juice for overtaking and cruising on highways at triple-digit speeds. Extremely VFM car imho.

I can never shift back to NA Petrol now. It’s either Turbo with TC/DCT Automatic or an EV for me even as a sedate driver. I need torque on demand even if I need it 1 out of 100 times. Car in the video is Punch.EV 🚀

Nissan Magnite tries to offer brilliant VFM both in NA Petrol and in Turbo Engine. But my suggestion is to get Turbo Engine for 70:30 needs for adequate power and smooth CVT shifting. This turbo engine justifies the size & practicality with confidence. - Turbo MT starts from just Rs 8.58 lakh - NA starts from Rs 5.61 lakh only

The most important care you can give your gearbox is. Regular gear oil service and it should be services at least once every 1 or 2 years. ATF-IV for 2000-2006 Toyota vehicles ATF WS for 2008-2013 Toyota vehicles CVT FE for CVT gears from 2014-2020 It's also important to go through your car manual to confirm what gear oil your car uses.

Lately, the 3XO AT and Magnite Turbo CVT offer solid value under 10 lakh as well. The Altroz DCA AT is a great package, but the i20 still holds its ground as a worthy B2 segment car.

The more I research & study the car market, petrol quality, Indian conditions, repair costs, long term maintenance … the more I feel that Honda Elevate MT & AT is a near perfect car in mid-size SUV segment. Not everything is torque, not everything is fuel efficiency, not everything is jazzy features. Sometimes it’s all about that fine balance of everything including overall quality, fundamentals, reliability & practicality.

If I am out in the market today for a petrol car, I will pick a car with a simpler technology. Naturally Aspirated with any AT gearbox. Performance has taken a back seat. Until brands voluntarily say we are giving you unconditional warranty for 4-6 years, why spend on a tech that is expensive to maintain considering zero clarity for the future percentage blending / roadmap. Note: Honda cars are e20 material compatible since 2009, not compliant.

Maruti Brezza vs Honda City Under 15 Lakh In the 1.5L Naturally Aspirated Petrol segment, the Honda City and Elevate are the best products available in the market, yet highly underrated. With 6 airbags as standard, ADAS in the base AT variant, excellent comfort, and the smoothest engines, they offer great value. For me, fuel efficiency and slightly higher service costs aren't an issue, and I don't plan on selling my cars before 8 years. Cars under 4 meters are fine up to ₹13 lakh, or if you need a CNG option. However, once their price overlaps with a car that's over 4 meters, it's better to choose the larger car. Even if you lose some features, you might get significant discounts as well. That said, the Brezza is a good car too, but it should offer 6 airbags as standard. In my opinion, it's also slightly overpriced for the AT variants but yes, it is super reliable, cheap to maintain and has excellent resale value.
