FAA WARNING: Some Boeing 787 lavatories could break loose mid-flight due to corrosion! The FAA is proposing urgent checks after finding galvanic corrosion in fasteners holding lav modules to the cabin floor.

That would be a shitty way to go.

You’d be shit out of luck if that happened

Dug into the document: “galvanic interaction of aluminum and carbon fiber as a result of the wet environment at the lavatory.” I would have thought carbon fiber is non conductive. Learn something new everyday.

The car safe that can't be stolen. Using locks all cars have for booster seats, you can keep your valuables protected! Get yours today.

Oh shit

Blue ice strikes again!

It should be noted that this Airworthiness Directive is about fixing the lavatory unit from detaching during a high G event (like a hard landing) which might cause injury or block an exit. Think of it like a PortaPotty that might fall over, but stays inside the pressurized compartment. The Lav is NOT going to fall off the airplane in flight.

I read that and thought "can you imagine going in there to take a leak and suddenly the whole lavatory detaches from the plane and you're falling from 30K feet?"

That'd make for a really shitty flight....

@thenewarea51 Shit !

So what your saying is don’t eat Taco Bell if you’re flying on a 787 in the next 24 hours.
