I work in Huge Aero Space factory, with MANY CNC's, I am very old my and I fix all their mistakes, on a Jig Bore and a Bridgeport. Here's the problem, I try to teach the younger folks they hire, but they do not want to learn how-to fix mistakes. They want to go on phones, and go on Twitter.

While advanced manufacturing look automated, the biggest bottleneck is skilled operators who understand how the system works

The remarkable precision of a five-axis CNC machine in full operation, simultaneously coordinating linear and rotary movements to carve intricate bladed forms from solid metal, builds directly upon a foundational patent that first formalized such multi-axis control for complex three-dimensional contouring. In the postwar industrial expansion of the 1960s, American manufacturers confronted a pressing need to produce large-scale sheet-metal dies for the rapidly evolving automotive sector. Vehicle designs were growing more aerodynamic and stylish, requiring compound curves and irregular surfaces that tested the limits of existing machining practices. Earlier tracer lathes and three-axis mills demanded frequent repositioning of the workpiece or tool, introducing errors and slowing production at a time when assembly lines were scaling to meet consumer demand for affordable cars. The push toward greater accuracy and efficiency reflected broader technological shifts, as aerospace and transportation industries sought ways to shape high-performance components with tolerances once thought unattainable by mechanical means alone. This era of innovation addressed not only production bottlenecks but also the human challenges faced by skilled machinists, who labored over massive castings with hand tools and rudimentary fixtures. The ability to approach a workpiece from any angle while holding the cutting point fixed in space transformed how engineers thought about sculpting metal, opening pathways to the sophisticated parts that power modern engines and aircraft. That vision crystallized in US3359861A, granted to inventors Harry T. Johnson and Earle H. Stevenson and assigned to Ford Motor Company. Sparked by the urgent task of contouring large metal objects for vehicular body dies, their design integrated three linear slides with two independent rotary supports whose axes intersected precisely at the tool’s working edge. The patent describes how this arrangement enables “the cutting tool to be located accurately in three dimensions and at any selected point in space,” allowing the operator to alter the tool’s angle to the work without disturbing its position—an engineering insight that directly underpins the seamless, chip-flying operation captured in today’s five-axis CNC demonstration. Fake, Turbine blades are not made like that.

X y z What 2 else? Dumbshit

Holy fuck that program is gonna take forever. Almost woudve been better to run it 3+2 with faster feeds and speeds and let a finishing cutter do the tilt work

Die Schaufelblätter sind lose gesteckt und fixiert. Würden sonst brechen.

@89_kba takie serwisujesz?

Parece un convertidor de par de una caja de engranajes marina

不経済。切削体積が多くてエンドミルがすぐにダメになりそう。鋳造からの切削で良くね?ブレードも交換できそうにないし。

És fantàstic!

Я пока ещё мало в этом, но разве подобные детали не изготавливаются литьем? Или только эти лопатки требуют вытачивание на ЧПУ?

Заебали, сож включите!

Amazing
