Crossing the highway is an offence in Lagos State. Lagos State government has given a marching order to the Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) Marshall and other law enforcement officials to arrest anyone crossing the highway and then charge them to court immediately. PLEASE use the pedestrian bridges across the State. #ZeroToleranceLagos

Earlier today, the operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) arrested 63 persons for crossing the highway, and illegal street trading. OBJECTIVES OF THE LAW - Establish a Lagos Electricity Market that is technically sound, financially viable, and well-regulated - Ensure access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity for all citizens. - Promote diverse energy sources, including renewable energy, and encourage energy efficiency. - Foster investment, competition, and innovation in the electricity sector. - Electrify underserved areas, contributing to the sustainable development of Lagos State. INSTITUTIONS TO BE CREATED The law establishes critical institutions to manage and oversee the electricity market: 1. Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission: Independent oversight for regulatory compliance and licensing. 2. Lagos Independent System Operator (ISO): Ensuring system reliability and operational efficiency. 3. Lagos State Electrification Agency: Focused on expanding electricity access to underserved communities. 4. Special Funds: (i). Electrification Funds - Financing electrification projects and sustainable energy solutions in underserved and Unserved Communities. Today, at about 9:30am, the Lagos State Environmental Taskforce continued its operation against hoodlums who have taken to the streets of Lagos and violently unleashed terror on drivers whose vehicles broke down, dispossessing them of their valuables as a means of livelihood. The operation covered Maryland and the entire length of Ikorodu Road where some undesirable elements numbering up to 6 were arrested and taken to the office for prosecution.
