Located inside our Labs & Manufacturing facility in El Segundo, our SIL simulator brings our engineering and systems testing teams alongside our test pilots to collaborate and accelerate our testing cadence to get to the tarmac safely and efficiently.

And then we did it six more times in the past week, with three different Joby pilots experiencing transition flight onboard the aircraft. Combining the flexibility of vertical take-off with efficient cruise flight is a unique capability that we first demonstrated in 2017, and hundreds upon hundreds of times since. This full-scale flight test successfully tested a multitude of key systems needed to safely launch the capsule to 100,000 ft (30,480 m) and bring it back in a controlled descent to ocean splashdown. The completion of this flight kicks off a series of further uncrewed test flights that will examine every possible corner case as well as test our redundancy systems to ensure the safest future operations as we progress toward crewed test flights and commercialization.
