Something like this can vastly improve our way of life without creating a whole new infrastructure to accommodate this breakthrough. E.g. You can still produce the next iteration of a smartphone without the plug interface or produce an adapter with this tech embedded in the usbc port to power your current device indefinitely. The possibilities in upgrading our current and future tech without a drastic shift of infrastructure development are doable now.
