“Getting Hard Boiled in the original Chinese version, there’s nothing like it—you don’t even need to know what’s going on in terms of language to love the movie. It was incredible.” — John Carpenter

Qullamaggie on Catching Sector Rotation “How to catch sector rotation in bull markets. Just follow the setups. You don’t have to worry that much about it. Just follow the setups, follow your sell rules. You know you’re gonna catch those rotations. No need to overthink it. All you really have to do is focus on good setups. Everything else is gonna take care of itself. You don’t need to know what’s going on in the world. You don’t need to know what Trump’s doing. You don’t need to know what China’s doing. You don’t need to know the planetary movements. You really don’t need to know much. What you need to have if you want to get rich in the trading, you need to have focus and you need to focus on the right things. Exactly. You need to know the earth is flat because of science.”

John Carpenter on In The Mouth of Madness Did you know... The climax’s 18-ft “Wall of Monsters” was one giant KNB practical effect on rollers (like a nightmare parade float), needing ~25 people to operate. It even ran over Greg Nicotero’s foot during filming.

In terms of the NY Subway violence, John Rocker tried to warn everyone back in 1999. John Rocker is a true Patriot who was canceled before it was cool to be canceled. He stood on his morals/principles despite losing millions in the process. We need more ppl like JohnRocker

This is a must watch. Oliver Anthony gives an incredible breakdown of what’s going on in Western North Carolina where many people have reported the lack of aid from agencies, saying “it almost seemed like the officials there DIDNT want people to be rescued and it was very odd; it was like a power struggle between the people there of who’s going to be in control of helping the people instead of actually helping the people.” “I wanted to tell you a spark notes version since everyone has been asking.”

Did you know ‘Here I Go Again’ was actually released in 1982 and didn’t chart at all? Original version said, “Like a hobo I was born to walk alone”. Whitesnake made some changes to the song and re-released it in 1987 which made it a #1 song. Here’s the original version….

Ben McCollum on Iowa's response to the Michigan State loss: “We didn’t overreact to what it was. But we did correct. Because, again, like I told the guys, it’s still not okay to lose. Like I’ve said ad nauseam, this whole thing isn’t going to be easy and it’s going to take time. You just don’t get anointed. You don’t just come in and say, ‘Oh, here, we’re just going to win the Big Ten.' Like, 'Here you go.’ It’s hard, and there’s going to be hard games. There’s going to be things we don’t do well, and there’s going to be things that I don’t do well. But that’s the fun in it, and that’s why we want everybody so involved. We certainly appreciate the crowd today. I thought they were fantastic.”

Reporter: Have you seen the report into the Minab school attack, sir? Trump: I have not seen it. I have to wait for it to be complete. I don’t know that they’re ever going to solve that problem. I don’t know that they’re ever going to say it was one of our missiles. Pete, I don’t know that they’re ever going to solve that problem in terms of whose fault it was, because there were missiles flying all over the place. It’s horrible what happened, but there were missiles flying all over the place, and somebody said it was our missile. Well, maybe it wasn’t our missile, but I’ve seen nothing to lead me to believe it was. There were plenty of missiles being flown by other people. I don’t think it was us.

Ryan Reynolds says the original plan for “Deadpool & Wolverine” was to secretly film a fake, intentionally terrible movie called “Alpha Cop” so audiences would think they were watching a completely different movie until the Marvel logo appeared five minutes in. “The original idea with this movie was to shoot a fake movie called Alpha Cop that was intentionally bad.” “Like, the poster I even had one of the posters made.” “It was about two guys who are sharing one brain, and together they make the ultimate cop.” “And the poster says, you know, Alpha Cop: two cops, one brain, all balls.” “And it was meant to be kind of, like, horrible.” “And, you know, so you would go like ten people in America would go to see this movie on opening weekend.” “And five minutes into the movie the Marvel logo would flip up, and it would actually be Deadpool Wolverine.” “But the problem with if you manage to get right down to the last minute and it gets blown, you know, it would just, it would be heartbreaking.” “So I don’t know.” “But we’ve been lucky on this one.”

John Woo on how he feels while making an action movie: "When I’m making an action movie, I don’t see it as an action movie. It’s like a painting or a poem, sometimes even like a musical. I’m aiming for that kind of feel, because I’m a dreamer. I think that’s my style because I always have some kind of beautiful dream in my mind. I was a pretty good dancer when I was young. When it comes to the action in a movie, it’s all about the beauty of the body movement and the fighting skill." (John Woo's interview with Peter Debruge, Variety, 2025) Clip from: Hard Boiled (1992) Director: John Woo

John Carpenter on how the studio, audience and critics reacted after watching "Big Trouble in Little China" (1986) & the reason for movie's failure: "Carpenter: I thought about writing a book about my experiences in Hollywood being a director, mainly because I was burned out on making movies. But | didn't do it because | thought, “I’m not ready yet. | don't have enough to say yet. I need to make more films and | don’t want to quit yet.” Interviewer: How did Fox executives react when they saw the movie for the first time? Carpenter: Needless to say, they had a few problems with the movie. They sat down with me and we went through the film. They didn’t like that the white hero was such a buffoon, and that he was being shown up by the Asians. They were afraid the audience wouldn't think this guy was brave, so they asked me to cut out the humor and emphasize his bravery, which was impossible to do. Then we got to the preview stage. The audience that saw it really loved it and laughed, so they wanted me to put the humor back in and go back to what it was—they still hated the movie, though. They didn't want Kurt to play it plenty. They wanted him to be an action hero, a real live action hero, not Jack Burton. They wanted him to be more like Rambo or Stallone. They wanted him to play it straight and it wasn't straight. Interviewer: How was the movie perceived by the audience and the critics? Carpenter: Nobody got it. Like I said earlier, timing was never my thing in terms of when my movies come out. This movie was completely and totally misunderstood. The critics and the public thought it was just bad, and there is nothing | can do about that." ("John Carpenter - The Prince of Darkness", Gilles Boulenger, 2001) P.S: On this day, 40 years ago, "Big Trouble in Little China" (1986) was released in the USA.

Anthony Edwards on Tyrese Maxey and getting dunked on “He’s incredible man, he already know he’s one of my favorite players to watch in the league. He dunked on me today too, I don’t really like that(laughs)… I didn’t know he was going downhill, I just ended up turning my head. I’m thinking he was going to lay it up then he went and punched it”

No thanks, I don’t want to see it. I don’t even need to know what the movie is about. I’ve seen what I need to see.
