I was proud to lead the fight to secure a major victory for the gun owners in President Donald J. Trump’ One Big, Beautiful Bill. The Second Amendment is not a second-class right. Registration and fingerprinting are inconsistent with our Constitutional liberties, and the NFA is an illegal poll tax used as a piggy bank for the federal government. My provision to eliminate the $200 tax on certain NFA items paves the way for dismantling the unconstitutional National Firearms Act. Thank you, Joey Jones for celebrating this Second Amendment victory on The Five Fox News!

I have tremendous respect for Gun Owners of America of America. They understand something the Founders got right, though I might have suggested one adjustment. If I'd been in that room, I would have recommended making the Second Amendment the First Amendment. Everything else could flow from there. EVERYTHING. That is how essential it is to the survival of our Republic. Thank you to GOA for the fight they wage every single day to defend this right and the men and women who exercise it.

We stood in peaceful protest for a fundamental issue, that is women’s safety. Instead of addressing the concern, 12 Congress MLAs, including me, were suspended for demanding accountability. What followed was even more alarming, MLAs were manhandled, humiliated and assaulted. This blatant misuse of power, disrespects and undermines the dignity of elected representatives. As the voice of the people,our duty is to raise concerns, yet the response was intimidation. The situation turned graver when police assaulted two of our Congress MLAs, exposing a desperate attempt to silence dissent rather than ensure safety. If there were answers, why suppress voices? What is there to fear? A government that resorts to force when asked for accountability only reveals its own failures. But suppression cannot erase the truth. Women’s safety is not a demand, it is a right. Rules cannot silence our fight for what is right. This fight will not stop.
