Elon Musk explains how Starlink works? "I think there's several 1000 satellites in low Earth orbit, and they're moving around 25 times the speed of sound in these zipping around the Earth, basically. And they're at an altitude of about 550 kilometers, which is called generally low earth orbit, because they're at low Earth orbit. Their latency is low because the distances is not that far, compared to Geo stationary satellite, 36,000 kilometers. So you've got 1000s of satellites providing low latency, high speed internet throughout the world, and they are interconnected as well. So there are laser links between the satellites. So it forms sort of a laser mesh, so that if, let's say if cables are damaged or cut, like fiber cables, the satellites can communicate between each other and provide connectivity. For example, when the Red Sea cables were cut, I think a few months ago, the Starlink satellite network, continued to function."

A space satellite is launched into orbit using a powerful rocket that lifts it through Earth’s atmosphere at speeds over 17,500 miles per hour (28,000 km/h). Once it reaches the right altitude and velocity, the rocket releases the satellite, allowing it to circle Earth due to the balance between gravity pulling it down and its forward speed carrying it around the planet. Satellites are used for communication, GPS, weather tracking, military operations, and scientific research, silently orbiting hundreds or even thousands of miles above us.

Strong signals have been received as expected, and our team has successfully demodulated the telemetry data. The results confirm that all satellites are in excellent health, with systems operating exactly as planned. With the commissioning phase officially underway, our low-power, cost-effective Connecta IoT satellite solutions are poised to deliver wider coverage and shorter revisit times, taking our network capabilities to the next level.
