This twist in Assassin's Creed III that Haytham Kenway is a Templar hits the player like a truck, and I think that's due to how much time you spend with Haytham as a character. This is by Ubisoft's design of course. You get so used to seeing the world through Haytham's eyes for hours and hours that it's hard to separate yourself from him once it's over. You can never get a complete read on the type of person he is, but throughout his journey you hope that deep down he truly is a good man. Maybe in some ways he is and by the end you're convinced once you see his capacity for love and to do good, that is until he presents the Templar Ring to Charles Lee.
